Davis Cup
David has been chosen to lead Spain in the Davis Cup and will play singles with Robredo, Lopez & Verdasco will play doubles.

It's about bloody time they gave David a REAL chance to play a REAL DC match... imo, the former G3 or G4 or whatever they were called took far too long to incorporate new players into the team.
It will be a tough tie altho BLR is all about Max. I saw the BLR vs. CAN tie in Sep. in Toronto -- doubles only, which CAN won [Nestor is one of THE best dbles players I've seen  ] and Max was playing well enough. It was his partner Voltchkov who was the liability AND he hasn't the best behaviour either...
Anyway, ESP s just play their best!

One thing that Emilio Sanchez said was that he wants to have a couple of doubles teams play for several tournaments to get used to playing dbles and to get used to playing as a team so that for DC they can choose whichever team is playing better. Another long overdue decision! |

It´s great that David gets to play Davis Cup and I wish him all the best for the tie in Belarus. It was about time that he gets the chance to play a real match, although he will face Max (two of my faves have to battle it out against each other  ). Well, at least one of them will definately reach the second round!

David even should have been picked to play single instead of Juan in DC last time,  anyway congrats to him,he totally deserves it!
