It is a great city, and I feel so lucky to have been there (and staying in the unique Hotel Rossia which was a very confusing place to find your way around) It's now been torn down...anyone know what the plans are for this very prime piece of real estate?)

Thanks, michellej Indeed Moscow is a magical place, and I just captured pieces of its unique atmosphere.

Thanks, gisellita My camera is a compact one - Canon Powershot SD 630. It's not a fancy one, but it works
Have a good day, dears

Re: THE GATHERING OF THE SAFINHOLICS Part 9
I heard the train accident a few days ago. This is bad. I hope so too, that everyone here wasn't affected. It was the train that connects St petersburg and Moscow I think...
Speaking of disaster - last week it struck here long ago...
57 people were massacred because of politics in the south part of this country (we're an archipelago). Half of them media people... And one thing is for sure - the government is somehow involved with this.

Re: THE GATHERING OF THE SAFINHOLICS Part 9
I just heard, fire broke out in a Russian nightclub and 109 people died.

I don't know what to say, I'm already shell shocked with what's happened all over the world...

Evidenrly it was the fault of the owners who didn't have the proper safety standards in -place.

**shakes head**
I don't understand why pyrotechnics are used in nightclubs, it shouldn't happen. There have been a number of similar cases with other nightclubs that I can remember -- in Buenos Aires in 2004 killing nearly 200, one in China last year that killed around 40, and at The Station nightclub in Rhode Island in 2003 killing 100. It also seems in all these cases that the fire codes were not enforced or followed, and there was confusion over the exits (locations and possible blockage of some exits). How many times is this going to happen?!
