Re: The "Ready to get down & dirty aka clay season 09" thread
I just hope he makes a smart decision. He shouldnt play RG when he's in pain only to please the crowd. But Im sure he's smart enough to decide whether or not he should play.

Monfils on verge of withdrawing from French Open
RUEIL-MALMAISON, France, May 20 (Reuters) - Gael Monfils was on the verge of withdrawing from the French Open on Wednesday because of a knee injury, he said.
“If I had to decide today, the answer would be no,” the world number 11, who reached the semi-finals at Roland-Garros last year, told a news conference after losing 6-4 6-0 to Marcos Baghdatis in an exhibition game.
“I clench my teeth but my knee is still hurting. I’ll make my decision at the last minute. I have six days left as I have asked to play on Tuesday. I still believe a miracle will happen,” he added.
According to French federation doctor Bernard Montalvan, the 22-year-old Monfils suffers from an inflammation of the kneecap which could require surgery and a long period of rehabilitation.

Re: The "Ready to get down & dirty aka clay season 09" thread
He says he's trying to be positive and if he thinks he can do it, maybe he will. His training yesterday didn't give much clue. He says his knee is getting better everyday. He spends his time putting ice on it and getting "weird massages" from his physio. He says the faith is getting more and more important in his life. His father will also arrive at the end of the week, they don't see each other very often, so it boosts him a lot when his father is there.

Re: The "Ready to get down & dirty aka clay season 09" thread
You're saying that they said on TF1 that he was out of RG? Are you sure? That'd be pretty strange, since the l'équipe website posted this news half an hour after your post: http://www.lequipe.fr/Tennis/breves2...t-le-show.html

Re: The "Ready to get down & dirty aka clay season 09" thread
l'Equipe would be one of the first to report it if Gael wasn't playing so... Until they post something saying he's out, I'm just going to assume he's in.
Thanks Simplet!

Re: The "Ready to get down & dirty aka clay season 09" thread
I "saw" him briefly this afternoon; I didn't get to see the exhibition though but people were very enthusiastic so I guess he's doing ok...

Re: The "Ready to get down & dirty aka clay season 09" thread
Thanks, great news!
The France Télévisions videos are not available abroad anymore this year (the livestreams never were, but we can't even watch the replay of Tennis Club, the reports or the videos on demand anymore), that sucks.

Re: The "Ready to get down & dirty aka clay season 09" thread
You're welcome ! Dominguez said that Gaël practiced two hours yesterday after the B.Berthet day and the knee was holding just fine. He's going to be very careful with it and maybe he won't be at a 100% of his form on tuesday but he's definitely playing.
Tomorrow's tennis club is about the 4 musqueteers. I won't be able to watch it but I'll try to save it from the site and put it on megaup if it's interesting. If you see another video that you want to watch, you could pm me about it and I'll try to do the same.
