Got to the finals. PLayed the 1 seed. Won 1st set 6-4, lost 2nd 3-6. Went to 10-point breaker. I was down 5-8. Came back to 8-8. Down 8-9. Got up 10-9. Had a few more match points. Had a match point 1t 13-12, nice looking sitter inside the service line and I netted it. He won 16-14. He was really a backboard hack. Couldnt do anything but run down and hit heavy lobs back deep. I had to win points many times. I played well and I will use this match for motivation. Pretty sad to blow 4 MPs, but I have to take good out of it. Kid was tough to beat, I played well, came back, and I know I can beat him next time.

My next tourney is a big one April 25th. Thanks for the support

Rode to the Sectionals is here Well, I know Ill make sectionals im just saying all these tourneys are building up to the Qualifier(State-wide tourney that gives big implications for sectionals), then the Sectionals(really gets your sectional ranking up high and can boost you into Nationals)

Sounds like you had a good tournament, and a tough loss at the end. Everybody has those, so keep your head up, there will always be other matches.

One thing, though: If you really want to learn something from that loss, this is not the attitude. Tennis match has only one winner. There are no techincal winners or moral winners. He beat you, fair and square, no matter what his playing style is.

I don´t know anything about you or your level, but it´s only at a relatively high level that matches are won by the more active player. Usually it´s the one who commits less errors, and plays safe. Playing safe is not always pretty, but it usually gets the job done.

So if you really want to learn something from this match, try to figure out exactly why you lost, and what it was that he did better than you. If you can figure that out, and take it to the next match you play against a similar player, then you can say it was almost worth losing that one match! Good luck to the future tournaments!!
