Re: Create The perfect player
Nole's strength is his consistency and overall solidness. None of his shots really stand out as being extraordinary, but when you put them all together it makes for something great. He shouldn't really factor in any "perfect" player dissections. The only aspect of his game I'd consider a "GOAT" contender is his balance on the backhand passing shot.

Didn't we previously agree Leng Jai that you had no idea about tennis?

This post is badrep worthy.

Your badrep-worthy post was pretty ironic coming from you.

Re: Create The perfect player
Let us create the perfect player by meshing together the best aspects of every CURRENTLY active player. The categories that I will be using are:
Volley, Forehand, Backhand, Serve, Return of Serve, Movement, Strength, Mental Strength, Big Game Mentality (Although many will argue this comes under Mental strength):
OK Here we go:
Volley: R. Federer
Forehand: R. Federer
Backhand:R. Federer
Serve:R. Federer
Return of Serve:R. Federer
Movement:R. Federer
Strength:R. Federer
Mental Strength:R. Federer
Big Game Mentality:R. Federer
[Very srs]
[not srs]
OK let's do it seriously:
Volley: M. Llodra
Forehand: R. Federer
Backhand: N. Djokovic
Serve: J. Isner
Return of Serve: A.Murray
Movement: N. Djokovic
Strength: JW. Tsonga
Mental Strength: N. Djokovic
Big Game Mentality: R. Nadal
Most aesthetic game: R. Gasquet
Now if a players had all of these qualities, then he would be the perfect player imo.

Only thing I'd put Federer over Djokovic, and anyway this will change since Nole is already improving so much his volleys.

Re: Create The perfect player
Love the explanation " Nole's when it's on " . When Fed's is on others don't count

The same logic applies to your posts about Nole as well.

Re: Create The perfect player
The final video was uploaded - Nadal won Mental Strength by a landslide pretty much. ( www.tennistv.com/video)
Rafa chose Novak; Novak said "all the top guys" but then said "Nadal"; Murray said it was Roger, then Rafa, then Novak - so a bit of a cop out; Fed said Rafa; Raonic, Isner, Fish, Monfils also went for Rafa; Tipsy said Novak last year but then also Rafa....
So overall, according to the ATP's "poll" of players:
Forehand: Federer/Nadal
Backhand: Djokovic
Serve: Isner
Return of Serve: Djokovic
Volley: Llodra
Stamina: Ferrer
Mentality: Nadal
I'd probably only disagree with volley - think Fed, Murray etc. are actually pretty good; could make an argument for Murray in return of serve and backhand; stamina could make an argument for Nadal...
To be honest breaking a game down like this just shows how much the intangibles matter in sport -Fed may not have the best backhand, or return etc. but he's overall so complete it just works (plus his forehand was the most lethal weapon at its height of course!).
