Re: Grass Season Thread 2009
I prefer Jo clean-shaven and with very short hair - seems we all have different tastes
I had never seen Golubev play before and was impressed at how he pushed Jo all the way. Jo's returns of serve - particularly second serves - leave much room for improvement. His game on grass is effective as long as he consistently produces those huge first serves. He does have some great defensive skills - his lateral movement is quite good - but he will tend to be exposed by serve&volleyors because he stays too far back behind the baseline. But to be fair to him, he does need some adjustment period to the surface; let's hope he wins the next match, which will allow him to improve his tactics, his movement and especially those returns of serves.

Re: Grass Season Thread 2009
I like Jo with a buzz cut and no fuzz on his face. The beard is strange anyway. Glad he has his bling back though. I missed it in RG

Re: Grass Season Thread 2009
Court 3! That means I might be able to watch him. I will try and report back if I can go.
Forgot to mention that I finally met Jo on Monday. I was wandering the streets around Wimbledon and I bumped into him jogging! I was caught by surprise and ended up screaming 'JoWIiiii' at him since he had already passed me. He was super lovely though, even if I was a strange person asking weird questions in bad French (I blame my 3 hour sleep and 4am wakeup! ).

sets in Roland Garros, so I hope not to win the first two sets this time. (Smiling.)

That's a great story ! But he was alone ? maybe his team couldn't follow his pace tell us more
Hahaha that happened to me once, I bumped into Cañas jogging around the Bercy grounds back in October lol. And I had already bumped into him in Barcelona Twice the same player and it's the one who is freaking me out the most with Stepanek

Re: Grass Season Thread 2009
With the WO he won't be tired for the next one lol. Three days off to prepare third round. If it's Darcis he has to win and if it's Acemachine we never know.

Re: Grass Season Thread 2009
Yes Bolleli gave a WO to Jo It's written in the OOP http://www.wimbledon.org/en_GB/score...promo=st_promo and it's already report in the draw. It seems to be the back for Simone.
Jo can work for his next match and have a lot of rest after a quite tough first round.
