Re: Clay Season Thread 2009
Jo withdraws from Barcelona, he has small pain in one knee
http://www.lequipe.fr/Tennis/breves2...a-renonce.html
Quote:

Re: Clay Season Thread 2009
Very bad start indeed Karine. But the article says it's just a minor injury and it's more out of precaution so let's hope that's true. And that the knee will be better after some rest.

Hope it is just precautionary indeed and that he will be fine for Rome.

Re: Clay Season Thread 2009
Another day, another good news... At least it sounds like he'll avoid "major" injuries for now, so that's something to cheer for, I guess.

JoWi. So hope he's ready to play by Rome.

Maybe the sky will fall?

Re: Clay Season Thread 2009
He was training in Roland-Garros today, Dominguez says it's good he had one more free week after having played so much and doesn't sound worried.

Re: Clay Season Thread 2009
Here is Jo's quarter at Rome :
1] NADAL, Rafael ESP vs BYE
SEPPI, Andreas ITA vs QUERREY, Sam USA
SODERLING, Robin SWE vs GRANOLLERS, Marcel ESP
QUALIFIER vs [14] BLAKE, James USA
[9] TSONGA, Jo-Wilfried FRA vs GASQUET, Richard FRA
ALMAGRO, Nicolas ESP vs GULBIS, Ernests LAT
FISH, Mardy USA vs ANDREEV, Igor RUS
BYE vs [8] VERDASCO, Fernando ESP
It's quite epic for a return after a three weeks pause !
Sorry for all the gasquetaires around here, but I am a hundred percent behind Jo for this first match.

Re: Clay Season Thread 2009
Jo against Richie in first round.....
Gulbis hasn't been doing great lately... I'm thinking Almagro as a possible second round opponent for Jo. Then, either Andreev or Verdasco who are on clay not to mention Rafa ! For a return after 4 years without clay...
But one match at a time
