Re: Wicked Wednesday!!!!
Ljubicic @2,45
Why is everybody fancing Andreev???
I see no reason for that at all..
I took Ljubo at my local bookie @2,45, amazing odds for sure, first of all the h2h; OK Andreev got a win against Tsonga, but Jo was far from his best, and nontheless he won more points, Andreev squeezed it out, Ljubo won't give him any rythm at all; SImon is an excellent returner and he couldn't do shit against Ljubo's sevre; if Ivan keeps serving like he did so far, he is the fave if you ask me, he will get his chances cause Andreev has his bad service games per set; everybody forgets that Ljubicic loves Indian Wells and this kind of surface suits him amazingly;
Ljubo hasn't had a good start for this year, but he played great against Tsonga at the AO, and could have gone far if he just had taken some of the numerous set points;
The serve is working like in the old days, bh slice is solid, the onehander is there when he needs it and it is a beautiful stroke, even the loopy forhand isn't as bad as it can be...
Andreev has been pure shit going in to IW, betting on Andreev on a hc when he is a fave, not very wise if you ask me.....

Re: Wicked Wednesday!!!!
Tommy Robredo 5.2 over Andy Murray
Robredo was spectacular in disarming the young Croat en route to setting up this round of 16 duel with Murray. The Spaniard, who has been subpar the past 2 seasons seems to be completely rejuvenated in 2009 posting an impressive 18-4 record, two singles titles (both on clay) and even a doubles title to boot.
Murray struggled early against the weakish Spanidard Alberto Montanes but bounced back very strong in dispatching the useless Paul Henri Matheui in less than no time. No question about it, Murray is a major force to be reckoned with and all indications point to him setting up yet another duel with Federer.
These two met 3 years ago in Las Vegas where Robredo thrashed the Brit and then again in 07 at Metz where the Spaniard got bageled in the first set but then came back to produce a nice 3 set win. The conditions in Vegas are very much like the ones these guys will be playing in tomorrow and apparently that could favor Tommy but Murray was just a baby at that time and the young Scot is firing on all cylinders now. With that being said, Robredo has posted tons of quality wins this year on all kinds of surfaces and is making a strong push to get back into the top 10 as he's peaking through the fence. Murray may be dominant but he is not in the class of Federer or Nadal yet and 5.2 are just too generous of odds for me to pass up especially on a guy of Robredo's quality.
Fernando Verdasco 1.3 over Philip Kohlscreiber
Verdasco silenced qualms about how he would he would return from a devastating loss to Nadal in the semi final classic. The Spaniard battered poor Richard Gasquet in the previous round and also eliminated the young Thomaz Belluci in relatively standard fashion.
Kohlscrieber perhaps wasn't prepared to take Oliver Patience, the last minute replace of the injured Nikolay Davydenko too seriously as the German dropped the first set to the Frenchman before outlasting his enemic opponent in 3. Philip once again received a favorable draw with a 3rd round duel against the aging Nicolas Lapenti who Kohly dispatched in 3 sets.
Would you have rated Verdasco as a 4 to 1 favorite against Kohlscrieber in early January? Probably not but as fans we're fairly impressionable and Verdasco's brilliant performances in 1 week over 3 top 10 opponents have turned him from a potential dog to a heavy favorite in this matchup. The German holds a 3-1 h2h advantage and has won both battles on hard courts. With that being said, Verdasco is playing out of his mind right now and even though Kohlscrieber has earned the right to be here he's labored far toom uch for me to not back Verdasco here.
Also like Federer to bounce Gonzo but the odds are way too short and I think old man Ljubicic will give Andreev fits but I'll probably lay off that one.

Re: Wicked Wednesday!!!!
On the other hand, I think Murray will beat boredo whereas i think Kohli is where the Verdasco bandwagon wheels are gonna come off.

Re: Wicked Wednesday!!!!
For me an 8 fold today @ 48/1:
Verdasco to beat Kohlschreiber (Verdasco simply to good this season)
Robredo +4.5 over Murray (Robredo in very good form and Murray not at his very best)
Gonzalez +4.5 over Federer (Federer will have to work here, and he will win but it will be quite close IMO)
Ljubicic to win a set against Andreev (Ljubicic loves Indian Wells and looks pretty good right now, so for him to take one set is realistic IMO)
Wawrinka +4.5 over Djokovic (Djokivic will win but Wawrinka is playing good so will be close IMO)
J. del Potro over Isner (Del Pony simply better more aggresive player on points)
Roddick over Ferrer (Roddick in the USA and loves playing in front of home crowd but will be another close one)
Nalbandian to win a set against Nadal (Rafa will win this time, but he will be pushed to 3 sets IMO)

Re: Wicked Wednesday!!!!
Whoops just looked at Verdasco's H2H versus Kohlschreiber. Also worried now about Gonzo covering the the handicap.

Re: Wicked Wednesday!!!!
Ferrer 4-2 h2h over Roddick, hard courts and all. Do you see a possible upset there? I hate betting on Ferrer.
