Even if they all decide to play tennis, Agassi's kids will be on the decline as Roger's kid hits his peak.

Re: Roger Federer to be a Dad!!!
I can't believe the amount of excitement and happiness that I feel for two people who other than on my tv screen are pretty much strangers for me.
So happy for him I was pretty much speechless the first few moment I found out about this lol.
I guess they're announcing it now because Mirka must be really showing now, cos the baby's due in summer. omg I can't wait for pint-sized Roger jr. to arrive in the world !

On the latest pics of Roger, he's just radiating... sparkling eyes...
I think he's so happy and glad he got the news out to the world. You know I somehow think it will do him wonders in the months to come!

I know what you mean. Yet, I can't help being super excited. I even squealed when I heard the news.

Re: Roger Federer to be a Dad!!!
Aww, congrats to them both! Hope it all goes well & everyone turns out healthy & happy
On a selfish side (if I can be selfish about the future child of two people I don't actually know ) I hope it's a boy, just cos I prefer boys as kids & I want future Federers on the ATP tour...a girl would be nice later Oh and I hope this just inspires Roger more, I know there haven't been too many fathers who've won slams but hopefully he'll use this as a big incentive & inspiration to push on for some fabulous tennis over the years
Anyhoo, congrats & hope it all goes swimmingly.

No wonder his back was hurting!!
Well well well....
So they really had sex?
I've been in denial all this time.
Congratulations to the parents-to-be.

Re: Roger Federer to be a Dad!!!
How long have the media been wishing for a baby Fed to be on the way They won't bother asking him about how he feels losing to Nadal... it'll be "How's Mirka etc etc ... I've felt Roger has wanted children for some while - in spite of what he may have said in public. I'm very happy for them both - truly I am. They'll make great parents - be it boy or girl. Does anyone know exactly when the baby is due? Don't tell me ... Tuesday 23 June when I've got tickets to see him play at Wimbledon!! But I won't mind for something as endearing as this news.

Re: Roger Federer to be a Dad!!!
I have mixed feelings about this announcement. Congrats are in order of course and hope they have a healthy baby. On the other hand, we may have seen the last of Roger's GS wins with USO 2008. I was hoping that he would get to 15 slams but that seems pretty hard now.
My life and focus completely changed with the birth of my first one and I unfortunately (or fortunately - depends on how you look at it) see that happening with Roger. He will probably have a nanny but he will definitely be distracted a lot more and at this level of competitiveness, that pretty much means a slow death to his game.
Oh well, it was good while it lasted.
Hope they have a lot of fun with the baby - it is a lot of work but worth it.

This is just one way to look at it. It might also just be the other way round: being more relaxed and enjoying playing more, in stead of being so focussed on record breaking, getting to GOAT status, constantly having to deal with the immense pressure and expectations, and the like. It might just bring back a much needed relaxed attitude to the game.
We'll have to wait and see how it all pans out. It's different for everyone.
