Re: Vamos Outdoor Hardcourt Season 2009
His DF again to lose the MP, almost funny the regularity of them. I guess his serve is just one more thing that we can add to the list of current issues with the MIA FH.
Glad it's clay season again now for Paulo, things can only get better at this point. The ground game deserted him as well, after he got so frustrated about the foot faults.
Another performance to forget all in all, Paulo.

sets in Roland Garros, so I hope not to win the first two sets this time. (Smiling.)

Re: Vamos Outdoor Hardcourt Season 2009
Overall not a bad match from Paulo, he's made some nice shots from both BH and FH, but for the serve, which was awful and a key to the defeat
Strange, but I haven't noticed that odd spin on his FH that we talked about during IW this time! I hope to watch the match again later (yes, I'm that masochistic )... if I manage to find it on the web, of course... maybe I just wasn't paying enough attention to his FH, since his serve was a lot more serious issue tonight.
Thanks a lot for the company, Jenny

Re: Vamos Outdoor Hardcourt Season 2009
Oh the FH wasn't as bad as in IW thankfully and yes, you must be masochistic to a certain degree to be a Paulo fan anyway. I do agree that the serve was the major contributor to this defeat and was very disheartening.
You're welcome, sleep well.

Re: Vamos Outdoor Hardcourt Season 2009
It's strange because Paulo sounded particularly happy about his serve after the 1st round, that's the point he was underlining the most in the few bits of interviews I saw, saying he would need to keep serving so well against Djokovic, stressing that when he was 0-40 on his serve at 5-3 against Baggy, he served 3 aces in a row, etc.
Maybe that's also the reason why he kind of collapsed when his serve wasn't working as well as he was hoping. I don't know, I haven't seen the matches, just read a few lines in L'Equipe after the Baggy match and before the Nole one, but I noticed the focus on his serve both times, so that was my first thought when I read this morning that his serve let him completely down yesterday.

Re: Vamos Outdoor Hardcourt Season 2009
We need a campaign for his serve
It's been an obvious problem for him since last year. I was hoping that the high-tech motion analysis that Team Lagardere has would be a bit of a help
We've been talking about this issue for months now. I never realize it's THAT difficult to fix it.

They're showing this live on Sky Sports, I'm quite surprised.
Currently 1-1.

Second set
Still, congrats on the win. Kolya again is a tough ask, but every match is a new opportunity.

A bit strange score! But any score will do if Paulo comes out as a winner!

Re: Vamos Outdoor Hardcourt Season 2009
It was a strange match, not sure what to make of it. At least 1st match on hardcourt in 4+ months is over and done with.
but he won, now tomorrow is another day. Hope he can bring his best tennis tomorrow and gets revenge on Hamburg Final.
He's first match on the 2nd court at 10am.

Tough draw.
But he played better than he did in Hamburg final.
