Re: Indian Wells 2009
Masters draws are always tough. After the second match everyone is suppose to play against a seeded player.

Re: Indian Wells 2009
And in this case it might be Tomas Berdych. A foretaste of the DC quarterfinal...

Re: Indian Wells 2009
Facing Nadal spurred David into the form of his life in 2007. I can see him taking the title if he faces Nadal again.

Just lovely. Nalby can go and stomp on Mugboar. Every time Nalby plays well and Mugboar loses, it's a victory for tennis.

Though Youzhny has a 5-2 head-to-head record over Berdych.
(I only know that because I remember reading the gamblers forum earlier this year predicting Youzhny to beat Berdych)
I'm not expecting much from this tournament anyway given that David has basically said that he hasn't really fully recovered. I just hope that he's getting there, and that things will be better for Miami.

Me neither. I'm fully prepared for a 1st or 2nd round exit. Even if he was healthy this would be a hard draw.
I just hope that he's not precipitating his return to competition.

Re: Indian Wells 2009
David will face either Phau or Kendrick in the second round.

Re: Indian Wells 2009
(7) Jeff Coetzee (RSA)/Wesley Moodie (RSA) VS Michael Llodra (FRA)/Radek Stepanek (CZE)
Mardy Fish (USA)/Andy Roddick (USA) VS Jeremy Chardy (FRA)/Gilles Simon (FRA)
Simon Aspelin (SWE)/Jamie Murray (GBR) VS Juan Martin Del Potro (ARG)/David Nalbandian (ARG)
Julian Knowle (AUT)/Jurgen Melzer (AUT) VS (4) Lukas Dlouhy (cze)/Leander Paes (IND)
It's going to be interesting to see David and Juan playing doubles together.

Re: Indian Wells 2009
Wow, that's a really interesting doubles combination considering that neither David or Del Potro had even communicated much to each other prior to that. (Or at least there was all this talk of Vasquez needing to set up a meeting between them to clear the air)
I want to watch that match.

Me too.
Yeah, before it seemed as if the only way they could be made to talk to each other would be with Vázquez as mediator. And apparently, he promised to arrange a meeting but nothing happened, which David complained about in a recent interview. But it's good to see that they're capable of settling things, themselves.
Better late than never.

Re: Indian Wells 2009
What a good idea (from luis lobo I guess) to make David play double with Delpo... it could arrange their relationship ??
