Re: Articles, videos, news... about French tennis
About that 4 musqueteers documentary on Canal + :
Quote:

Each of them earned 25000€ in exchange of being followed by cameras everywhere. It says some of them asked for more without success, but they don't want to tell who
Here is the article in Le Parisien, but you have to pay to access it : http://www.leparisien.fr/abo-sports/...009-445275.php

Re: Articles, videos, news... about French tennis
Seb in "Aujourd'hui Sport" today:
http://www.asport.fr/Tennis/news/200...is-choque.html
Did anybody read the complete article, does he say anything else apart from his little rant about Gaël? (He's mad because he's heard the FFT gives Gaël 200.000-300.000 euros although he has his private coach and his private structure.)

Re: Articles, videos, news... about French tennis
Thanks - and sorry. Feel free to send me your Paypal addy, I owe you 50 ct.
(Unless you consider that the fact Seb is going to resume the training in two weeks was totally worth 50 ct.?)
Seriously, they could have given us a bit more background information about this "Team 2012" and the point for the FFT then.

Re: Articles, videos, news... about French tennis
The article of "le parisien" disgutes me. That's a shame.
And (of course), seb is right.
From his far-florida, it proves he still follows french tennis.
La génération d'avant me manque déjà !!!
Ces jeunes, ils ne respectent rien et n'ont aucun scrupule.
Bientôt faudra les payer pour qu'ils daignent aller en conférence de presse.
Tout se monnaie.

Re: Articles, videos, news... about French tennis
Tu es sérieuse, Marine ?
They talked about it in Carrément Tennis this morning. Dominguez replied to Grosjean in Aujourd'hui Sport. I don't remember everything, Xavier aide-moi, but basically he said that the FFT players have to give back a certain percent of their prize money to the federation, used to build more centers and help youngsters AND pay for the top players coaches if they ask for it, even if the coach isn't part of the FFT (in that case he's not even French). (So they also fully pay for Tsonga and Simon's coaches ? They don't give any more than 10% of their prize money ?) It seems he was also asked why Gasquet didn't have the same treatment as Monfils, and he replied that Gasquet never asked for any help from their part.
One of the journalists then said that it was obvious Gasquet wasn't going to ask them for help since Lagardère is paying for everything already. Another said that the FFT has been flirting with Monfils for the last few years because they once discovered they didn't have any top players with them since they were all at Lagardère's (Tsonga and Simon weren't big at all at the time.) So that's why they're so nice with him, they don't want to lose another big name. Another that it was completely scandalous that Monfils got his coach paid by the FFT when he earns so much already and has his private structure, the FFT should have never accepted such conditions, they were just paying for him to be there in DC and in the Olympics, etc, etc.
I don't really have a personal opinion on that matter. I suppose Monfils' agent is doing his best to keep the finances of his client as high as possible and Gaël probably doesn't have much to do with that. Anyway tout ça c'est bonnet blanc et blanc bonnet, et on n'est pas prêt de sortir de la guéguerre Lagardère/FFT.

Re: Articles, videos, news... about French tennis
Marion, I also listen it and I think they said they give back 15% of prize money to the FFT.
After all this is question of money, I am not sure it was so different before, just no one was talking about it because Lagardere team did not exist and they were not a "guéguerre".

Re: Articles, videos, news... about French tennis
What is the name of Monfils' agent, soulage please ?
It's very possible Karine, I don't remember everything. (Jo s'est fait dans les 500000 € à la finale de l'AO l'an dernier non ? 15% de ça, de quoi acheter des meubles en or massif pour Dominguez!)
Yep I agree, the journos said too that Grosjean was bitter because at some point in his (and Clément's) career, the FFT stopped helping them financially, when it seems they needed the money.
