Re: John "the Mailman" Millman Cheering Thread
Good to hear and thanks for the update. Would be brilliant to see him win against Tomic especially if there is some sort of animosity between them. Hopefully AJ is cheering the house down for him.

Re: John "the Mailman" Millman Cheering Thread
John lost a tough one to Tomic 7-6 (6) in the 3rd. It was a funny match, the first set Tomic didn't have a clue what was going on and looked flat, then called the trainer halfway through the 1st set.
He started well, then the 2nd set he couldn't find a first serve at all and Tomic woke up a bit and made him pay badly.
Went down an early break in the 3rd, but played a great game to get it back on serve. The last was high quality tennis, long drawn out rallies, hitting good depth.
The 8th game at 30 all Johnny went for a backhand down the line, just hit the top of the tape and didn't bounce over, though he got a few lucky letcords as well. He saved 2 match points in the process, but Tomic took the 3rd one.
There were some absolute goose calls from the officials, one serve was so far in that Tomic gave it, another one a slow lob was out by at least 4 balls length and wasn't overruled.
Bascially 2 sets of crap and a high quality last set.
John has pulled out of the first Moroccan challenger.

Re: John "the Mailman" Millman Cheering Thread
Will be tough for Johnny against a qualie, used to the conditions. Has to get the clay legs happening, hopefully he can do well but there will be less problems with shin splints now.

Re: John "the Mailman" Millman Cheering Thread
Plays Posposil next, who won the event last week. He is the aggressive type player, so maybe he can have a day where he is hitting the ball into Gibraltar.

Re: John "the Mailman" Millman Cheering Thread
Nice win for Johnny, Pospisil will be tough especially on clay. If John were able to get up good news follows because the number 1 seed has pulled out of the draw and was replaced with another qualifier so a potential semifinal showing on the cards if Johnny can get over the line in his next match. I am just happy John is finally starting to become more consistent with his results in challengers. He heads back on to the hard stuff next week in France where he is currently the first alternate but should get in directly.
The following week he is the second alternate for a challenger in Bosnia which is also on hard court. The week after that is either back to the red stuff in Morocco or a 100k hard court challenger in France, my guess is the hard court challenger in France. I think playing on hard may not be the best option though due to what other people have said in this thread about his shins flaring up when he plays on hard. Good luck Johnny and I know you'll get back in the top 200 soon.

Re: John "the Mailman" Millman Cheering Thread
There is a reason that the cliche called one match a time exists. Clay challengers aren't easy at all and rankings don't usually reflect who is going to win.
John hasn't entered any events in Week 11, he will get into Sarajevo and then a week off. He might plays quals in Rabat.
