Don't forget is forgettable doubles match with Chardy against Roddick and Fish!! However, he and Jeremy do have the dubious "honor" of losing to the eventual winners of the tournie!! I didn't see his match against Lu.

why does he play doubles with Chardy instead of Jo (with Benneteau this week??) or Monfils?? (who almost never plays doubles) and why he has never played doubles with Richard? don't care about this last one.

I don't care for the last one either Isabelle And Jeremy is better eye candy than Gael (except in the opening sequence in his Interieur Sport episode
But no matter who he plays with they never seem to win Maybe he should team up with Rafa

Maybe there is a reason for that. He is on the alternate liste for Monte Carlo with Gicquel. That won't change the negative doubles run.

But, I am sad that he did not win today. I saw only the breaker of the first set and the start of the second, too little in fact to make a judgement.

Gael interieur sport episode!! sounds very interesting! too good but sadly don't know what it is. Chardy is too young, it's almost Gilles is his teacher but I agree he is nice and fun to watch. You will never read me making a comment about the last one I mentioned in previous post.

as always Gilles very honest and classy, giving credit to Jo saying he played well in 2nd and 3rd set and he didn't play well enough. Also extremely hard on himself (cripé) and honest saying he should have taken adavantage of the situation in 1st set. Une autre foix it will be better Champion, don't worry Gilles, your attitude and love to compete again was a joy to watch and Tsonga is not a top 50 player, maybe he will be the next new gs champion, I hope so. Allez Gilles!

How disappointing he dropped his level after the first set. At least he's back to being the confident and energetic Gilles we all love.

Nothing else in L'Equipe:
Quote:

VINCENT COGNET
Gilles' comments on the match:
He was feeling superior from the baseline in the 1st set, Jo was trying things and missing. At 4-5 in the TB, Jo was afraid to enter another rallye, he overdid it on his serve, especially on his 2nd serve, Gilles knew it could happen. The article says they both were nervous and not playing very well in the 1st set. But it's a pretty lame article, it also says there wasn't any BP before the TB in the 1st set, which is not true, Gilles had BP.
Gilles says he lost the match at the beginning of the 2nd set, he played a poor return at 15-30 in the 1st game, he was rushing, mad at himself for not making Jo play more and it ended up with him getting broken at 2-1 in a silly way (2 UE in a rallye and one easy volley missed). "I brought him back into the match all by myself."
As for the 3rd set, he's angry because he wasted his first breakpoints in his opinion, there always was a rallye and he lost the point, he can't afford that since it's his strong point. "To lose isn't a problem, I didn't like the way I lost. Jo was playing really freely at the end, but I helped him to feel better on the court."

I just wanna know the reason of that behavior on court? why so lazy and submissive?
I hope the sudden richness did not help in this

true............
that's why I like him - he might play like an idiot sometimes, but at least he's honest!
