Thanks for the update! Fed has 68 in AO, though. Also Guillermo Vilas has 58 in FO. He used to have 56 because the FO 1972 was incorrectly listed on ATP.com as having a 64-man draw.

Yes. And Nadal needs to win to achieve the same.

It is a bit strange the RG has a record as "low" as 58. In the US Open, Federer is just 6th with 64 wins. In Wimbledon, Sampras' 63 is only good enough for 4th. The AO having 56 as the old record before Fed improved it was less surprising, considering the lower status it used to have.

Not really surprising. The biggest champion was Borg (who quit at 26). Lendl did well, but was done by 30. Since then there hasn't really been a significant star at the event.
