Winning again in Bercy would be awesome, would defo secure a WTF spot at the very last minute as well However lets not get out hopes up, he lost to Robredo in R2 last year Oh and then the year before Davydenko killed him 6-1 6-1 in R3
They really should of named it something else, I mean I like "World Tour Finals" but the abbreviation is just too confusing.
Oh, I didn't know that, awesome! Hopefully he wins it again for you. Well I mean if Tomas doesn't become a moron mentally I have no doubt he'll win a title before the end of the year, however if he does then this time next year we could really see him go way down the rankings. IMO he needs a decent amount of points from now to the end of the season to back up his ranking if he does by any chance lose a huge amount in the first 6 months of next year. But yeah as long as he's having fun everything should be awesome.
Good thing about his streak (ya know apart from the obvious ) is that it will make him confident so his MM (moron mentality!) should be absent for a good long while, (as long as he believes it I guess - but then if he doesn't then he is beyond help, and should be on a psychiatrists couch! ) But with that confidence then really titles are sooo much more accessible. Like all my favourites, the ability is well evident but its the mental side - so fingers crossed for Tomas that he is buoyed by the first half of his season, cos like ya say, if he bums around for the next 6 months, his ranking will be shocking next Spring
So Tomas - sending you super super pository thoughts buddy, Its only cos we love ya!
He should win a big tournament indeed, because then he would really think he belongs with the top guys and it would be a nice cherry on top. I don't see why he can't win one of the masters 1000's leading up to the USO...that surface really suits him and his confidence should, like swampy said, be super high now...so he might not mug about against randoms
Well he made the quarters of Cincinatti last year playing pretty shit, even his match against Nadal was...
Oh well at least he's guaranteed a BYE in R1 in Toronto and Cincinatti, so that's good. With luck hopefully he avoids the likes of Rafa and A-Rod as well.
I like his chances at the USO as well, last year I honestly think he didn't play bad at all and Gonzo really did play a super match against Tomas in R3. Either way I'm expecting at least one QF or even a SF in Toronto, Cincinatti and the USO.
I only just realised that against Istomin at Wimbledon Tomas beat his all time ace record in a match He hit 34 aces in that match and before that he had never hit 30 or more aces in a match, so good achievement. Shows how good the serve is now as well Only if Tomas could up that 1st serve percentage now.
