oh man the twins just won an insane match over Lipsky/Martin 7-6 3-6 12-10, Lipsky/Martin served for the first at 5-4 and the twins played two UNREAL points that helped them break back, and they were down a minibreak. Also they were down a minibreak a few times in the superTB. The twins really did not play very well, especially didn't return too well, hopefully they can play better.

even thought the boys won today, still think they are way off the form from a few years ago

My thoughts on this.... think since the new format with the Super TB system..... If it gets down to a Super TB Its more about luck or having the courage to let a few rip & open the Super TB up for you

When it was under the old way the boys seemed to have more easier matches & not having the lucky escapes that you see all the time these days... It's taken away the brilliant play factor & turned it into a more even contest that one lucky shot can seal your fate!

Hmmm, well, I'd say the super tie break thing might have changed things a bit... I mean, I don't really think the twins aren't showing the same form as before. Because, really, if you take a look you will see 1) they have always been in the top positions in the ranking 2) they are always winning titles 3) playing and beating the best doubles teams and players out there. Thing is: nowdays there are a lot of doubles specialists and a lot more good doubles teams than maybe some years ago, where they could easily beat the guys who'd just play for fun or whatever. In my opinion it's really great they've been on tour for years and years and always doing great, even when they have to deal with injuries, etc.

Hey I agree that they are still such a formidable duo & anyone would be nervous about seeing them slotted into the draw against Mike & Bob.... You have to back there chances most weeks to be around at the business end each week
It's great that they are still winning titles & majors after all this time, They will be remembered when the curtain finally comes down on there Illustrious career (Hope It's not anytime soon) as one of the greatest teams of the modern era.

The doubles part of the game has changed with so many now turning into Doubles Specialists so they can make a decent income from the tour, & not the scratch combinations like days gone by....
The only thing I miss about doubles these days are the lack of main draw Singles contenders also playing doubles & the almost non playing of doubles by players who want to go deep in the draw at slams or the old Masters Series Events

But it's worked in the favour of Mike & Bob & sure even if the big names of the Singles Tour were in the doubles draw Mike & Bob would still be pushed to be beaten most times they hit the court

Maybe Im just an old or living in the past

.... as they say you need to move with the times..... & change can only be good in the long run for the game

Late, but

for the Bryan Brothers -- another win and trophy for the cabinet! I was hoping to catch it live when it aired on the TTC, but I guess there was something wrong because when I went to watch it, there was a different program on.

Then after that, I was too busy to catch the re-runs. But hopefully this Thursday I can finally watch it.
