Eléa, I haven't heard anything, but Gumy is my wish too, if he can't fix things up with Davin. In any case, whoever takes him on will want to push him harder and further. Will he accept that?

The fact is that Gumy apparently is no longer with Cañas, which could be a lucky coincidence.

http://espndeportes.espn.go.com/story?id=338390

".............Meanwhile, Cañas didn't confirm or deny a split with his coach, Hernán Gumy, who didn't travel with him to his last tournament in Halle, Germany.

The Argentine, who gave short interviews accompanied by his girlfriend, the tennis player María Emilia Salerni, his trainer Fernando Cao and his manager Michael Ducoté, said that the Spanish lawyers of Cuatro Sport will take his case and will be present at the trial in July.

Has anyone heard if Gaston is still working with Claudio and Fernando or did they also seperate?
I like Hernan a lot and would like to see him as Gastons new coach, but though I still hope that Gaston and Franco will keep on working together after a little break.

Sommar, according to the article below, it is still on with Fernando.

http://www.sportsya.com/welcome/noti...6&id_estruc=54

Gaudio se desvinculó de su coach

22-06 | 13:47 hs.

No news on a new coach, he might finish the rest of the year on his own. All the argentine coaches willing to travel are already taken and I don't think he will consider Gumy, since he coaches Guga and Gaston wants a coach with full attention on him. I think the closest one available very much like Franco is Gattiker. That's just an opinion of course =O)

Thanks everybody for the updates so far. I doubt that keeping on the season on his own is the right option, but that's Gaston's decision, and whatever he'll choose, I'll respect it.

I thought that the collaboration between Gumy and Guga was meant to be temporary, mostly for the preparation for the French Open. So, if that info was right, that would mean that, given that Hernan and Willy seem to be not working together any longer, Hernan is free...Anyway, maybe the info I had wasn't reliable. Let's wait and see now. Yet, I'm convinced that a collaboration between Gaston and Hernan could give great results.

Something else. I found an article about Mariano (Zabaleta) and I see Gaston's name in it. I would appreciate it if someone can tell what was said about Gaston....

Guys, I just read an interview with Gumy and he said he's still Willy's coach and will be after all this happens, that he will be with him during this whole process. As for the Mariano interview:
Who would you never introcuce your sister to date?
-To Gastón Gaudio, never ever, because I know him since we were 8 years old and he's a rat. There's no way (laughs)
-Is it that bad?
-He's a great friend of mine, but I would punch his face to death.
It's what Mariano said, but not literally translated.

I'd like Gumy to coach Gaston, but I have my opinions of who it'll be, but I am not sure if I want to express them yet.

As for Mariano and Gaston best of friends and yes he is a rat.

Have a great vacation!

Yes, finally Gumy came out and confirmed he’s still Willy’s coach. I find the idea of Gastón continuing without a coach this year rather disturbing, but as Melu says, there doesn’t seem to be anyone free.

Mariano’s interview is a laugh, and knowing Gastón as he does his opinion of him as regards girls makes you wonder!!!

Jazz already told you about it, though not literally, as she says. This is the translation of that part of the interview:

- If your sister got involved with a tennis player, would it bother you?

- "I think it would bother me. It hasn’t happened to me, she’s seeing a great guy, and I know there are things one cannot control, but if I could put a stop to it I would."

- Who would you never have introduced her to?

- "Gastón Gaudio, never ever, because I’ve known him since I was eight and he’s a rat. “Unpresentable” (laughs)."

- As bad as that?

- "He’s a great friend, but I’d beat the shit out of him."

- Have you other friends in the tennis world?

- "Yes, besides Gastón there are Mónaco and Chela. There’s nobody else who’s a friend-friend."
