I'm not totally convinced by this idea i prefers a trainer who follow tennis & player all along the year and less "star". I hope he won't say it at the end of the AO.

On the other article on sport24 http://www.sport24.com/tennis/coupe-...evenir-230832/ Forget said this morning that he thinks that Noah wants to come back but continues to discuss with others trainers. It seems that Noah is his choice but he wants to discuss with the players before and probably waits the final decision of Noah.

Quote:

I must say I find the idea stupid !
Mr. Noah is not irreplaceable. Ok, he did great as a captain, ok, he's a fantastic leader, but it was a long time ago.
For a few years, he uses to say he doesn't give a damm in tennis. He doesn't stop criticizing his former sport saying it's not interesting, that he doesn't follow anymore etc... ! I don't know why they should call to a guy who's so negative about french tennis.
I imagine him coming as a hero. No. The team doesn't need him to win the DC, only not injured men.
I prefer him to keep on making good songs and dancing.

Forget says in L'Equipe today people are getting a bit overexcited with the Noah story and nothing is done yet. He isn't about to nominate Noah as DC coach. He would be glad if Noah played a part in French tennis again, but it's not on the agenda for the time being.

Forget denies it even more clearly on RMC:
http://www.rmc.fr/edito/sport/68790/...as-entraineur/
It will probably be Lionel Roux, but he'll talk with the players first.

It seems Noah will be back, though, as a "consultant" or with another role, it isn't clear yet. He is taking a break from his career as a singer and would like to help the DC team, now that Bîmes won't be around anymore:

L'Equipe writes today Forget might act simultaneously as DC captain and coach since he has no DC trainer yet. ^^
They both explain in detail what happened, Forget is the one who asked Noah if he wanted to do the job, Noah was all for it first and then he thought a bit more about it and he's not ready to leave NY, he also says he doesn't know the players, Richard just a little bit, he hardly knows Gaël and he has never ever met Gilles. He would like to talk to each player first before he takes a decision, and Forget can't wait much longer, so it won't work according to Forget. Noah might help, but in an informal way.

Today in l'Equipe we learn that Escude has been rejected by FFT because they want separate Fed Cup and Davis Cup, Courteau wanted a full-time job that he found later with Paulo and that Roux & Gilbert has been rejected by young players for personnals reasons What are these reasons ? FFT would be quite happy with Tulasne-Winognasky as trainers according to l'equipe while Forget thinks to go in Ostrava without trainer.

The 4 musketeers takes the power it seems.

I might be stupid, but what do they need a trainer for? Of course, these guys are not perfect and can improve, but I don't see it happen in a week before DC. Besides they have all their regular coaches who certainly know their stuff, too. So what is the added value of having a specific DC-trainer?

No Noah, as expected, but it seems Forget will take Wino and Tulasne as provisory DC trainers for the 1st round. ^^ That's BS, the private coaches are supposed not to take part.

Anyway it's not the choice of the co-trainers which will make win the french team, we don't care
I don't know why it's a problem for them...
They just need sparring partners to practice cos forget can't share his time with all of them, that's all...
I'm more interested by the choice of the players.

With Wino and Tulasne, Simon and Tsonga will be there except for an injury. The doubles will be a tough choice because I think the best team would be a Tsonga-Gasquet but Tsonga should probably not play three matchs. He could be replaced by Llodra... then this means that Monfils would be left out.

I couldn't care less about the DC trainer either if it was going to be Roux, Boetsch, Gilbert or Escudé, Marine.
But Wino and Tulasne is BS, it has to have an influence on the choice of the players. It gives those 2 players a huge advantage to be picked. And the DC trainer, who has watched the players during the whole week in training, also should give his opinion on who is in best position to play against X or Y in singles. It's a biased situation for everybody if Tulasne is the one who has to give his opinion on Gilles Simon.

I can't believe Forget didn't build his staff earlier, since that's all he has to do all year long, and is now considering the most bizarre options one after another.
