Exclamation DC 2009 : Play-Off--> Netherlands

A new thread for a new year

The first round will be played the 6,7 and 8th March in Ostrava. The Czech had choosen a synthetic ground close of Taraflex.

Apparently Forget is still searching the new trainer of the team but of course the most interesting : Which players for this Davis Cup ?

We can notice that Jo said that he will try to play more doubles next year and will begin in Sydney with Richard. In the new musketeers they are the best doubles players maybe a possibilty to play with the "4 fantastiques" lol

Who are "the 4 fantastiques" for you ?

Plz don't say richard is part of the quator ??

I would like to see micka/arnaud in double (remember the last tie vs the USA, they were just fantastic, and Forget said he didn't want to hear critics anymore about arnaud's choice), JoJo and Gilles or Paulo in single.
I prefer Paulo, but tennistically, of course, Gilles deserves to play.
I just hope the atmosphere will be good with him in the team, we know what paulo and micka said about him in Lyon.

oh, and I forget Monfils...well, why not.

The "4 fantastiques" is like the "News Musketeers". Medias want absolutly to see the big four (Gael,Gilles, Richard and Jo) together. They are crazy with that and create some buzz around them and The "4 fantastiques" is one of their expression

For me doubles is very important so Micka is a titular In singles, for the moment : Gilles & Jo and the last one I don't know ? A double specialist (Arnaud ?) a player who can play both (Richard) a Davis Cup specialist (Paulo?)or a newbie (Gael?)????

I don't know what could be the best team . In doubles, as you, my favorite team is Arnaud/Micka but I know how Arnaud's results in singles can be a problem to stay in the team For doubles I only see Jo & Richard with a decent level whereas in singles there are too many players Well we will see their shape in march.

Jo and Richard are going to play more doubles together next year for the Davis Cup:

I would love to see the "New Musketeers" team, but it won't happen barring an injury of Mika (or a sudden retirement of Forget).

How long is the contract of Forget ? Maybe it's his last year ?

In an interview on sport24 he says that he prefers when there is someone with more experience in the team. For me it means Llodra but if he's injured doubles can become a problem as said Jo. Forget goes in Australia to see them. http://www.sport24.com/tennis/atp/ac...ifice-225017/#
Quote:

What a boring job, poor Forget ! lol
He has to go to Australia every year to see arnaud, seb, micka, richard etc... tennis, sun, dinner, beach during 2 weeks..how terrible !

Hey Guy, I accept to become the new trainer and work with you !!!!!!!!!

Finally Jo & Richard don't play Sydney together well Jo has already win a double tournament this year. Some words of Forget about the doubles
Quote:
It's written that he also asked Gilles to play more doubles I'm sure Gilles is an option for doubles

You sound a bit worried, soulage?

Well, he has to act as if he was giving everybody a fair chance, no need to publicly say already that Gilles Simon is just not an option.
Or he hasn't seen Gilles play doubles yet, that's a possibility too with Forget.

He should ask Gaël to play more doubles imo, he is terrible too, but he has a big serve and a good reach at the net, I think he could improve with some more practice and be a substitute if either Jo or Richard can't play in the very last minute.

I hadn't seen your other post, Forget signed for 2 years again last year, so yes, there is a big chance this is his last year.

Dominguez was on RMC last week and said they haven't found a trainer yet for the DC team, but R. Gilbert and L. Roux are in with the best chance according to the rumours.
I don't know if the DC trainer has any influence. R. Gilbert might be good for Gilles as he was his former coach.

Dominguez talked about it on the Moscato Show.
I also thought it would have been better to have the DC trainer with Forget in Australia already since he's going there to keep an eye on the main suspects - so they can decide as a team too.

Here's probably the reason why it takes them so much time to take a decision for the DC trainer - they're trying to get Noah!

Forget says in L'Equipe today that he doesn't want to say anything about the DC trainer yet. He will talk with the players in Australia before talking to the media. But he says it's not been easy to find the right person, so it sounds like he has found somebody.
