I think had a lot of injury problems. Not unlike Haase. But he didn't disappear completely, for example last December he won two futures before getting injured again.
And today he did defeat Eaton 3-6 6-4 6-4 to qualify for the main draw...
BTW. Eaton is essentially Britain's #1 player not counting Murray (he was their #1 in Davis Cup recently). So beating the de-facto UK #1 at home -- not bad.

In shape he is surely more than Top 300, but TTS is right in how injuries have hampered his progress in what is perhaps the most important stage in a player's career. He was injured right when a lot of guys are making the jump and development from juniors who are struggling on Challenger level to the next level.
