Re: The Mighty MM
Nishikori wont give him any free points. And Matosevic pretty much has no weapons. I think its one of the worse draws. Love to be proven wrong though.

Re: The Mighty MM
I think it's great entertainment.

Re: The Mighty MM
MM interview and said Tomic was top 30 (unless I missed something). You'd think he'd know his own ranking and that he was the highest ranked Australian...
On that note, has anyone heard Aussie commentators/ media say that Matosevic is the Australian number one? I heard it once when they were talking about Tomic losing the top spot and MM was given no credit at all.

Re: The Mighty MM
I have heard Todd Woodbridge continually note MMM as No.1 Aussie and also gives him good raps for his meteoric rise through the the rankings.
Not much else from other commentators, because they basically don't follow the other Aussies (other than Hewitt and Tomic) very closely, so don't know much about them. They don't even bother to find out.
But Woodbridge knows the Aussie players now that he has been Head of Tennis Development for two years.

Re: The Mighty MM
AO Round 1:
Matosevic Vs (12) Cilic
No chance here for MM.

Re: The Mighty MM
this sucks really, going into the Aussie summer as the number one Australian and it looks like he won't be winning any matches... he's had terrible luck with the draws with Nishikori, Tomic and now Cilic, he hasn't (so far) been able to prove to the public he deserves the top spot...

Yeah, it really is unlucky and may have been the reason for his loss of the top Aussie spot before the Australian Open. The players who have earned their spot (aside from Tomic), have tough draws (Ebden, Matosevic, Hewitt), while the WCs have nice draws. The older the player, the worse the draw... well not too far off.

Re: The Mighty MM
really bad draw for Marinko. Sadly I think he will have no chance at all of beating Cilic.
