Marinko has moved to 238 in the world with his final showing in Melbourne and with no points to defend until mid May Marinko is in a great position to jump into the top 200. I'm pretty sure Marinko will not play any more future tournaments unless his ranking dramatically drops from here. So challengers and ATP qualies from now on for Marinko, he is also guarunteed a spot in qualifying for Roland Garros and Wimbledon which is a good way of keeping him focused being exposed to that high standard of tournament.

Im still bitching bout MM's non selection in Aus Open. I think TA is sending out a very clear message that their gonna make people earn their right for a wildcard entry into grand slams with younger players who have worked hard first, then older players who have earned their spot. I think it is the right move by TA.I think MM was unlucky. There were a lot of people in front of him in pecking order i.e. Brydan Klein, Ball. Its great to see MM showing TA what he is made of.

Well he didn't enter the Japanese challenger next week but could play qualies there, he did enter the Thai challenger the week after and is 13th on the alternates list. So he would probably have to play qualies there too. Should get direct entry into the second Thai challenger the week after.

Then it's anyones guess as to whether he goes to Europe for challenger or North America for challengers. My guess would be America. He is going to play qualies for RG and Wimbledon which is a great sign.

Yep hes definetly done with future tournaments, another straight sets win against Martin Fischer. Next up is Mathias Bachinger for a place in the semis. Marinko's schedule goes like this for the next month:

Baton Rouge, USA (this week)
Mexico City, Mexico (next week)
Tallahasse, USA
Tenerife, Spain

After that I'm guessing he will go
Sanremo, Italy
Zagreb, Croatia
French Open qaulifying (will definetly play here)
Alessandria, Italy or Karlsruhe, Germany
Prostějov, Czech Republic or Fürth, Germany
Kosice, Slovakia
Wimbledon qualifying (will definetly play here)

Big three months ahead for him with lots and lots of points to gain!

Annihilated Bachinger 6-1 6-1 to get into the semis. He is also into the semis of the doubles with Dorsch who he will have to play in the semis. Great performance.

Yes he is in red hot form at the moment and looking for a second consecutive challenger final showing. If Marinko can win this challenger (which I actually now think he will) then he will move into the top 200! It's looking very promising from here on, I just hope he continues this form and most importantly doesn't get injured
