No, just no. Horrible draw.

I'm sick of all French matchups in general but this one is particularly annoying, especially so soon after their great doubles success.

Hope they can continue their doubles success though. Allez guys.

Paulo needs this more right now than Devilder who has had a great season on the Challenger circuit, good luck to him, hoping for a nice tournament here

Paulo has both singles and doubles tomorrow:

Singles
3rd on Center Court (not before 14:00, first match starts at 11:00)

Doubles
6th on Court 1 (matches start at 11:00, there are 3 doubles and 2 singles matches before Paulo and Nico's match)

Hopefully Paulo and Nico are friends again by the time their doubles match starts

Paulo won 6-0 6-2!
Nice of you to spare two games to your doubles partner, Paulo. Seems like a nice win, hope Paulo can have a very positive tournament.
Hope he'll make it up to Nico in the doubles later!

Default Re: Indoor Season 2008 - The Come Back!

His audio interview:
http://www.fft.fr/open-de-moselle/2008/?id=4101
"I was a bit sad when I saw the draw for the 1st round, we've just won our first doubles title together - certainly the last one too".
He says he feels well, it did him good to take some time off after Bucharest and to have one week to prepare properly. He loves that part of the season because he likes playing indoors.
He doesn't know Jouan at all.
He's looking for a long-term solution for the coach. He would have liked to stay longer with his former coaches, so now he's looking for somebody who will stay with him for a long time, maybe for the rest of his career.
And of course he's asked about Loïc Courteau then since they just parted ways with Amélie yesterday and Courteau said in interviews he's looking for a new long-term project and considers coming back to mens tennis. Paulo answers Loïc is an option indeed, a good coach, with a lot of experience.

Convincing win
Next this Jouan guy He seems to be on fire right now and serving very well judging from stats, hope Paulo won't be complacent and makes use of his greater experience against Jouan.

Yes, he could be nicer with Nico And try harder in doubles
I read that when Nico finally won a game he received a great ovation

Also everyone say Paulo was totally on fire, his shots were just great! So I think you can keep high hopes for this tournament

There is an article about the Metz ballkids in Le Républicain Lorrain today and they say Paulo is the nicest player (the worse ones being Clément and Almagro).

Someone bribed the ballkids? I talked to a friend of mine who was a ballkid in Canada, didn't work in Paulo's match... but he's not that impressed with Paulo

And what's the deal with Clement? How bad could he be to top every blacklist poll?

No no, they really love Paulo!
I hadn't seen they have a new website now and we can link the articles:
http://www.republicain-lorrain.fr/fr...1&iurweb=66347
"Mathieu, c'est de la balle !"
I don't know if it's because he's playing at home, or if it's still the Bucharest effect (the girls there seemed a bit shocked to see him smile so much) - but Paulo has turned into a real "sunshine" lately, he makes Baggy look grumpy.
