Serbia (Belgrade) on course for ATP tournament ?
Starting from 2009 ,Serbia will organise ATP tournament worth 500 000 $ .
Officials have confirmed that Belgrade wants ATP tournament and sponsors are ready !!!
Dates are the biggest problem and Serbian tennis officials are working with people responsible to make this possible !
This news is from some Belgrade newspapers who believe that Serbia have realy good chance getting ATP tournament !!

I just read in papers that Serbia officialy asked for both WTA and ATP tournament to be played in Belgrade. From Serbian side everything possible is done , now they expect tough negotiations.

This would be great if it actually goes through. I have heard the chances are no more than 50/50 at the moment, however.

yes but they also said that we have troubles with belgrade arena and pionir because they do not have 2nd court or it is to small

I just read the news on B92 site. Apart from Djokovic, they mention Fernando Verdasco, Carlos Moya, Radek Stepanek, Juan Carlos Ferrero, Ivan Ljubicic for Serbia Open 2009. But nothing is confirmed.
Tickets should be on sale in two weeks.
