Re: Jason Kubler Cheering Thread
Would be great to see Kubler win but obviously Klein had pretty much everything over Kubler, would be a good match to watch, good luck Kubler.

Re: Jason Kubler Cheering Thread
Men's Singles Final: (1) Brydan Klein d Jason Kubler 6-3 6-4. In 8 days Kubler should find himself at around 800 in the world and the highest ranked player born 1993 or after (provided none of his peers got ranking points this week - I didn't check). He'll have 15 ranking points, just ahead of Suk-Young Jeong who has 14. Go Jason!

Jeong made the quarters of a Korean futures this week but he drops 3 points on May 10th and 8 points on May 17th. Unfortunately though Tiago Fernandes also went on a run in Brazil and after this week he too will be on 15 points assuming they give 6 points out for 10k Futures Semis.

That's correct:
Code:
$$ W F S Q R16 R32
15,000+H 35 20 10 4 1 0
15,000 27 15 8 3 1 0
10,000 18 10 6 2 1 0
So Jeong will defend his points (14 points on May 10th) and Fernandes will be equal with Kubler (15 points on May 10th). Kubler will rank slightly ahead because he has less countable tournaments than Fernandes.
I'm assuming Kubler will get a Special Exempt or Wild Card for Bundaberg this week. If so, good luck Jason!

Re: Jason Kubler Cheering Thread
Bloody amazing. I don't know what points are given in future events so i wasn't sure how many he would get. I thought he might get around 1000 but even better. The list for Bundaberg is pretty much the same as Ipswich so would be great if he could do a similar thing in Bundaberg. Does anyone what ranking Benjamin Mitchell will now be.

Re: Jason Kubler Cheering Thread
Shows what a player can do with match practice (listen to that Tomic.) That experience in the Aus Open would have backfired, well he has certainly used that as a positive. Great work. Hope he can play more futures and keep on winning.

Re: Jason Kubler Cheering Thread
Kubler got a Special Exempt for Bundaberg this week (as expected) and plays qualifier Michael Look in the 1st round. Ugly second round draw sees the winner (probably) take on Klein.

Re: Jason Kubler Cheering Thread
Kubler has won his oppoening round against Look 7-5 6-3. He will meet Klein in the second round who beat Moore in three sets today.

Re: Jason Kubler Cheering Thread
Hope he can win against Klein i think it will be a tight 3 setter, good luck to him. Does anyone know where Kubler will go after this tournament, He is going to play in Roland Garros and Wimbledon isn't he. But will he play any more clay futures. Next week he will have a ranking great for tournaments now espically futures because he will always get direct acceptance.

He would have to play really well to beat Klein and unless Klein gets injured or is tired then I can't see Jase beating him. Luke Saville said in an interview a couple of days ago he will be spending a few weeks in Canberra after Bundaberg before heading to Europe to play some junior and some future tournaments around RG and Wimbledon time. So one would presume Kubler's schedule would be similar with of course playing in both the FO and Wimbledon juniors.
With this win (presuming the other don't win matches this week) Kubler will be the highest ranked 1993 born player in the world. Although his ranking in two weeks will be about 790 in the world that by no means guarantees entry into future tournaments but it does mean he will almost definitely get entry into the remaining aussie futures this year.

Re: Jason Kubler Cheering Thread
Well done Jason. Hopefully he plays well against Klein.
It looks as though Kubler's next tournament after this one will be a G1 Junior event in Belgium a week before the French Open Juniors.
