Spurs - the most overrated team in the whole of Europe.........especially by the bookies and punters. Villa usually a good away side - draws at Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool last season and a better side than Spurs, yet Spurs are clear favs.

I think there will be goals though. Both sides usually score and let in plenty. Same fixture last year was 4-4. However, Spurs goalscoring potential is limited now Berbatov and Keane are gone. Bent and Pavlychenko are simply not in the same class.

Not likely, they haven't won in White heart lane since the dawn of time. Give us something alittle better than this dude. To be honest, these little comments are starting piss me off. Put some effort into this.

For Me This Is A Huge Game for Tottenham and Juande Ramos, Pavlychenko is class, ive seen him play quite a few times now and i have come to the conclusion that he will be a big success at spurs, i dont like bent but with tottenhams very impressive creative midfield they should create an abundance of chances for him especially at home were spurs have in the past played like a top 4 team consistently.

Now that berbatovs gone the team morale should be back to stable and the players can fully focus on the job, i expect them to edge villa tonight, one area were tottenham are really weak is set pieces, villa are the kings of set plays so this could be a clear danger tonight.

I rate tottenhams manager highly, you must be good if you win 2 back to back uefa cups and finish 3rd in a very strong spanish league.

He will get it right, likes playing attacking football and an extremely impressive draw away to chelsea in their last game proves to me after a minor blip they can now get back on track.

Tottenham Over A.Villa @ 6/5
Roman Pavluchenko anytime Gl @ 15/8
Tottenham HF-FT @ 11/4

Tottenham have been having a minor blip for the past 50 years.

Useless useless team.

A complete lottery of a match theres good arguments for spurs to win but also villa to win, but i would go with the draw

Like Ivan said, Villa are very good at set pieces and Spurs not so good at defending them. Good thing for Spurs now is that they have a keeper who takes control of the penalty area, unlike that clown Robinson.

Ivan is right about this match being huge for Spurs...they need a win just to get off the bottom of the ladder. I think the man Spurs got that was more important than Pavlychenko was Corluka. He is able to fill in a number of positions at the back and possible DM which is sorely needed.

Spurs @ 2.10

Pavlychenko will have to be a good player to replace Keane's 100 goals over the past 5 season for Spurs. IMO, Spurs have been significantly weakened by letting go of Defoe, Keane and Berbatov and replacing them with a Russian who is unproven in the big European leagues and a young cast off from Man Utd.

Dos Santos is so overrated its untrue and still Tottenham have yet to bring in a tough central midfielder. Jenas and Modric are just too weak to play alongside eachother - Villa's strong midfield could outmuscle them like Boro and Sunderland did.

No doubt Spurs still have work to do in the January transfer window...I expect Arshavin as well as a tough DM as you say. But Spurs aren't as far off as many people think.

Modric reminds me of nedved, a little abit weaker but a excellent player on his day.

Dos santos looks like a raw gem, has momments of genius but like walcott might need abit of time to get going and adjust.

Defoe was good for spurs but didnt really blitz the goal scoring charts for them, he will benifit and show his true potential at pompey were he will play week in and week out.

Keane scored quite a few goals but i think hes been well replaced by the russian, the only problem is that they have bent to replace berba.

Berbatov obviously made them world class upfront and its a major loss but apart from that i think they can cope attacking wise if bent can just do something of any note, to be fair to him he was banging in them in pre-season but im not sure if he will deliver in the big games.

Bent delivered in the biggest game so far this year - and he did this working up front alone with poor delivery from his midfielders.

For the record, last season Tottenham and Villa games had the highest number of goals in the premiership. Spurs - 127 in 38 games, Villa - 122 goals. White Hart Lane was the highest scoring ground and Villa's away games produced many goals, including two 4-4 draws.

Stats point to goals, but these are often meaningless and 0-0 wouldn't be totally surpising.
