As mentioned earlier, Tursunov won't play either, and maybe Vliegen and Ancic. Not sure about Ljubicic, Nalbandian, Cuevas, Lepentti, Guquel, Tipsy, Dent either.
But I think JCF, Robredo, Djokovic, Tsonga and Gonzo will play.

not it's 7 right now

haas, andreev, del potro, davydenko, tursonov, blake and stepanek are all confirmed to be out for sure.

the potential is there for simon, ferrero, tipsarevic, gonzalez, robredo, lubijicic, nalbandian, cuevas, lapentti and dent to all pull out as well.

which, if everyone did then that would mean a grand total of 17 withdrawals.

of all the possibilities though ferrero, robredo, gonzalez, tipsarevic and lubijicic are the least likely. It seems like these are the 5 that will be fit to play the french.

i would say kei has about a 95% chance of getting in

..god i feel like an ass for trying to figure out kei's chances like this

I
I very well understand how you feel!
I may sound like a hypocrite but let's hope those players who have to sit out this time will have another time to shine this season!

Btw, I've just seen the entry list for Wimbledon, and Kei's name wasn't there. He could have been alt. #8 for the main draw if he used protected ranking of #106.

Maybe he's planning to play qualies, which is in the week after Queens?
Last year, the final cutoff for Wimby qualifying was #276. IF he wins in Sarasota this week, his ranking next week will be around #250, so he would have no problem entering the qualie draw....

But I really don't understand what his team is thinking.

Looks like Davydenko, Del Potro, Blake, Haas and Andreev are all officially out of the French. 4 more and Kei is IN

Its sad that were counting the number of withdrawals just for Kei to be in - RG is such a big tournament that losing such good players due to injury is a big let down, but as they said "you can't always get what you want".

I have no joy in saying this but I heard Nalbandian is not playing RG either.

So the list goes down again.

in my opinion, Kei shouldn't play at Roland Garros this year, it'll be better if he plays the two challengers in California (Carson, Ojai) where he signed up. He can get another two titles there and rise a lot in the rankings. I don't think that playing best-of-five matches on slow clay will be good for his physical condition.
