Re: Freddo Frog Friday
Also took Chardy @ 4.40 for the my lowest system stake...not overly convinced that he will make it through, but I couldn't ignore the value, for similar reasons as Jaap. Taking into account his weapons, the surface, and the fact that Andreev has had a few problems against such players before, I'd price him more in the region of 3.00-3.50.
Again, still waiting to pile into any bet. No opportunities presenting themselves, as of yet...

Re: Freddo Frog Friday
Nieminen Minar over 38.5 1.85
Minar have a shot but still dont want to fade Nieminen....he play his best in GS this year...and was not beaten easily in first 3... and will not give Minar an easy victory... will return many of Minars serves and stay long in rallyes...Minar will play his attacking tennis but hard to belive that hes able to provide constant pressure during 3 sets and with same amount of intensity....it sholud be a very close match so over looks reasonable

Re: Freddo Frog Friday
Had these posted in the other thread
Quote:
Serena Williams outright @ 3.55 (10 units)
Ginepri over Cilic @ 2.38 (10 units)
Davenport 2-0 @ 2.40 (8 units)
Haas 3-0 over Muller @ 1.95 (5 units)
Nieminen x Tsonga x Safin @ 6.05 (5 units)
|
Alves to cover +9.5 vs Federer @ 2.26 (5 units)
All he's gotta do is hold his serves a few times a set.
If my parlay doesn't hit before the Safin match, I'll have an individual play on that match.
Adding: Reynolds in play @ 3.50 (4 units)
Just heard Gonzo twisted his ankle and it wasn't pretty.

Re: Freddo Frog Friday
Perebiynis (2.96) and Azarenka (2.58) are fantastic odds against two shaky opponents.
Schnyder (1.44) , Roddick (1.40, I don't believe Gulbis is reasy yet ) and Stepanek (1.31) also look good. Maybe also Davenport at 1.49.
For the shocks of the day in mens I was on Hanescu and Minar but I'll also take GG Lopez (3.35)
Short favs combo will be Verdasco (1.11), Li (1.26) Federer (1.02) and Dementieva (1.08) - as Davydenko and Haas have already started.

I was right. Total domitation until 67 61 *52, then a brutal choke, but they still won it 67 61 76.

I think this match will be closer than the odds suggest. Both have big serves, so a couple of tie breaks are in prospect. Good value in the big Romanian .
Ginepri to beat Cilic @ 2.32
Ginepri plays his best tennis at the Us Open. At this venue he only gets beat by high calibre opponents - Agassi x 3, Federer, Todd Martin, Tommy Haas, Wawrinka. He returns the big serves well and Cilic coming off a long 5 setter with Benneteau.
Chardy to beat Andreev @ 4.6
Andreev has been in hot form in the last 6 weeks but he is liable to strange defeats every now and again, i.e his defeat against Ginepri at the French Open. One thing that Chardy has is a big game and someone who is able to take Andreev out of his comfort zone.

Re: Freddo Frog Friday
Roddick v Gulbis
Gulbis +4.5 @ 1.8 6/10
Gulbis to win @ 3.3 4/10
Gulbis is that typical player, like Del Potro, who can overpower Roddick from the back with a supreme forehand, a better backhand and a massive serve, almost equal to Roddick's if he can keep his first serve percentage up. He showed his skill in Cincinatti already, and despite having some downs in his match against Johansson, he never got into any trouble. Roddick has had a very dissapointing US hardcourt season thusfar, with no titles, despite all big names going into the Olympics. He is far too dependent on his serve and despite a decent forehand, he is just mediocre from the back, trying to keep the ball in play and waiting for errors most of the time nowadays. The match is on the racket of Gulbis if you ask me, mostly mentally. He has the quality to beat Andy here and the match-up should suit him nicely, Roddick's matches against Troicki and Del Potro showed this. Great odds here if you ask me.

Re: Freddo Frog Friday
Roddick over Gulbis @ 1.45 (50 units)
Gulbis is a beast, but I don't think he's ready to upset Roddick under the lights in NYC.
