Just another hopeful thread. Liam Broady is the world junior number 19. He won the boys' doubles at Wimbledon last year. I am opening this thread to celebrate the fact that today's win will see him elevated to the lofty heights of the British top 25 on Monday week, which confers a place on this chart:

Liam and his older sister Naomi, who is in the WTA top 300, are LTA refusniks. They were offered the top level of LTA funding for 2011, but they (or their father) refuse to take funding from the current regime at the LTA.

He's in the quarter's now. He is easily the top 1994 boy in the ATP rankings.

Interesting to follow their progress - latest "research" suggests that it takes longer to get into the men's top-100 than it used to and that male players tend to now get there around age 20.

Hope these guys keep the momentum going.

i was watching golding yesterday, he has some kind of injury on his back.but he has really powerful strokes....great power, really

Liam gets a win over 31st seed di Mauro in Wimbledon qualifying. His next opponent is Bautista-Agut, who wont 4-2ret. I could see Liam winning this match as well, which would be huge for a 17year old.

Liam won Roehampton, and that win would take his ranking up to 8 in the world, but the Wimbledon seedings won't take notice of it. He still has a good chance at winning this title in my opinion.
