My first one is about a dampener. Does it have to be strung on? Cause I had one on my old racket, and I liked it much more, so I bought some 3 dollar dampeners, but have no idea how to get them on. I assumed they were strung on, but it doesnt really look like it.
My second question is about rackets. I currently use a babolat Aeropro with cortex. My old racket was the Head Liquid Metal (the blue/gray one, not the black).
I have't been truly satisfied with my shots with the Aeropro. So I took my Head racket to the courts today instead of my Babolat. My partner, whose has been playing for a while (longer than I have), told me when I was upgrading to get a heavier racket.
However today, I felt like I had more control over my shots with my old racket. I also use a one hand backhand, and felt that the lighter weight (especially in the head) made the shot easier. I also enjoyed the smaller grip.
Theres really no way Im going to buy another racket anytime soon because my Babolat is only about 9 months old. However, I do want to know if theres any way to make my Babolat racket more like my Head one, including string tensions and stringing patterns and what not. I think I hit marginally harder on my Babolat as well.
If I can't do anything with it, Id also like some suggestions on a new racket. I guess im looking for more power, since I have much better control on a lighter racket.
And if im too cheap to buy, I guess I just restring my Head and throw on an overgrip.
