Where is the schedule for tomorrow? I can't find it, I just know that Gilles, Paulo and Gaël-Gilles will play.
(They really want to get rid of Poussin as soon as possible, his event will be over before it really started. )

Never mind, I've found it - but the informations from l'Equipe seem wrong, Gaël & Gilles aren't playing in doubles, Arnaud & Mika are?

A video of the opening ceremony in the perspective of the French athletes, you can see briefly Arnaud, Tulasne and especially Paulo at the beginning and then Gaël a little bit later:
http://sport.france2.fr/jeux-olympiq...d_article=1106
They also have a video of the whole ceremony with the France Télévision coverage on the same page.

thanks again

i almost forgot that half of the matches every day are played in the evenings... everyone must be hoping for a late match in case it's cooler. no problem for the protected species (i.e. big names) of course. thankfully erlich and ram are big names

Looks like Pierre Bouteyre will blog for Eurosport.fr (it was about time to start blogging, it might be a short blog ). He is the coach of Cornetto, but maybe he will give news of the guys too.
http://ace2007.blogs.eurosport.fr/ar...a-pekin-1.html

He seems proud of his pic of Gaël - we already have dozens of pics of Gaël, coco, take pics of the others next time, please!
The conditions are so tough and incredibly hot, he expects a lot of surprises in the tournament.
He's a bit frustrated because he couldn't take part to the opening ceremony (no pass). Only 4 staff members are allowed to stay at the Village with the athletes (they decided to give the priority to the medical staff to take care of the players, so even the coaches have restricted access to the Village - Dominguez complained in Le Parisien he can't even access the tournament venue!)
Everybody enjoyed the opening ceremony a lot and is having a great time.

A video from the Canal+ website, but it's only available from France, you will need a French pr.o.xy:
http://jo2008.canalplus.fr/video_bei...px?PlayVideo=4 (around 9'00)

It's about Salim Sdiri, that long jumper who was hit by a javelin some time ago in a meeting and still managed to qualify for Beijing (!). It's a report about his Olympic experience and he's together with the tennis team during the opening ceremony so we see them quite a lot (well, actually Gaël, Gilles and Paulo, I don't think I saw Arnaud and Mika).

Here are a few screenshots if you can't watch the video - the opening ceremony from the perspective of the athletes, very nice video if you like Salim:

My mistake, Arnaud and Mika are with the others, of course, you can see them here in the background - everybody was wearing THE hat:

A video with Gaël and Paulo:
http://video.lequipe.fr/video/iLyROoafYetJ.html
Paulo says at the end that winning a Gold medal has become in his opinion clearly more important than a Masters Series - "and maybe even more than the Australian Open".

I thought of you Aussie fans when I heard that. I didn't know the AO was so clearly ranked lower than the other Slams for him. Sorry.

Lilibel uploaded the video about Salim Sdiri! (I hope you don't mind if I post the link here, Lili? It's a lot of hassle to watch for people who're not living in France.)
http://www.megaupload.com/fr/?d=DRJXZADB
Again, it's about Salim Sdiri, not about "our" guys, but it gives a nice idea of the atmosphere during the opening ceremony.
(You can read the file with a FLV player or the VLC player.)

Oh P-H Why AO? With your records, it should be more important than the USO

Great day for our guys : 4 on 4

Easy for Paulo and Gilles, more tough for Gael and a very tough, close and long match for Micka : 11-9 in the third He will be tired for the double but it's maybe better to be concentrated on singles
