Hey everyone How have you been doing?

So Andy managed to win a few matches, didn't he? I gues a few people here were wrong. I don't want to jinx it, but can't wait to see Nole facing Andy in the 1/4 final. And winning in the end Sorry

Anyway, he has been doing just fine so far, I am sure you are all very happy about it.

I'm satisfied with his performance yesterday. I would have liked to see him break a few more times and be more aggressive. He usually steps it up against Gonzo, I think that will be an interesting match.

Hi everybody, I'm back from a break in Thailand (a bit of nightmare due to anti gov protests). I only saw the match against Gulbis. I thought he came back well from one set and a break down. I'm glad Andy is still in the draw and it's the second week! Hooray!

That's a great answer But when he was still in trouble, he seemed to be annoyed as somebody in the crowd told him something like: "come on, it's your birthday, Andy!"

I had to because I felt that was exactly the thing he did not need or want to hear at this moment.

Doug's been posting stuff after each of Andy's matches at stt.com:

Andy vs. Seppi

September 1, 12:12pm GMT+5 by Doug Spreen
Andy vs. Seppi

Into the 4th round. Andy played and beat a very determined Seppi on Sunday. Andy played a great 1st set to set the tone for the match. The 3rd set was a tough one but Andy was able to pick up his game and get the break back and make a late run to win the 3rd set and close out the match. A very tough Fernando Gonzalez awaits on Tuesday.

What A Night! Incredible!

What A Night! Incredible!

Wow what a night!! Rain delay and a late start to Andy’s match. Then Gulbis came out on fire in the first. Andy did a great job of finding a way to win the second set and start turning the match in his favor. 3 hours and 4 hard fought sets and Andy is into the 3 rd round.

Great Start To The US OPEN

August 28, 1:01am GMT+5 by Doug Spreen
Great Start To The US OPEN

Great start to the US Open!! From the first ball Andy did a great job of dictating what was going to happen. Santoro can be tough to play but Andys aggression took control and kept control of the match.

I don't know if I'll be able to stay up for the match tonight or not. I hope Andy is aggressive and forces his game on Gonzo. I would love to see Andy in the quarters.

Welcome BigJohn Welcome back blosson.

Matt Cronin says don't get excited about Gonzo winning. Same could be said for Andy, even though he's playing well now, he's just as inconsistent as Feña.

Good luck to Andy tonight.

8-ANDY RODDICK V. 11-FERNANDO GONZALEZ

Don't get too overly excited about the Chilean's chances here, as Roddick owns a 7-3 record against him and has beaten him on every surface. Fernando may be able to wreak havoc against other foes with his titanic forehand, sharp backhand slice and wicked kick serve, but not as much against Roddick. He can't handle the American's serve and simply isn't mentally tough enough to match his loud screams.

Of course, Gonzalez can play with him from the baseline and, like Roddick, is a decent volleyer, but Gonzalez tends to get impatient when he's facing a barrage of aces and service winners, and then his game falls apart.

However, it's clear that the Chilean is on a bit of a roll, having grabbed the Olympic silver and playing cleanly here. He's always played Roddick close but has failed on most occasions to come through on the big points. If he can keep the match tight and play freely, this could be a highly entertaining slugfest. But he has to get off to a good start and not get overwhelmed by what will be a heavily pro-Roddick crowd. America 's top player is in too good of a headspace to go down to a known quantity such as Fernando, but Gonzo will grab a set and make it interesting. Nonetheless, Roddick will advance in four sets.

"What kind of shape am I in now? Well round is a shape." said Roddick with a laugh. "I had a very detailed retirement plan, and I feel like I've met every aspect of it: a lot of golf, a lot of carbs, a lot of fried food, and some booze, occasionally — I've been completely committed ... The results have shown."

That was a great stuff today! I mean, I felt a bit like in the past. Andy was aggressive and did so many positive things out there. Ok, probably, we can relate some of that to the fact that Gonzo utterly sucked today, but.. damn, I'm happy with what I saw

Now then.. take all the positives from today and beat Novak, Andy!
