Does anyone ever get the "life is a dream" feeling?
Going to sleep the other day, but without being asleep I had one of those weird moments in life in which you question yourself wether life is "really real", if you know what I mean.
I must admit flying all the way from the Dominican Republic to Madrid makes me much more prone to having this feeling of, I am really here?
But in general, and quite a few times when sitting down at a cafe or at a mall or simply listening to my Ipod and looking at the people who walke by past me, I often get this feeling of being, detached from what is happening now, and that much of what I see and expirenence is in a way a dream.
I occasionally, get the feeling that I'm going to "wake up" and really start expiriencing all that is around me.
I'm not reffering to religion, because I am not religious, I am reffering to a somewhat specific feeling.
Can anyone relate to this feeling?
If not, has anyone here ever had simialar situations in which you feel certain things around you are "dream like"?

I don't ever seem to get this feeling but I would refer to it as the Twilight Zone Truly I think Rod Serling wrote about this in a few episodes

Re: Does anyone ever get the "life is a dream" feeling?
I've had this experience a lot and have thought about it at times. I've had dreams inside of other dreams which makes me wonder if what I'm experiencing right now is just one big dream. Usually I try to just to ignore it because it can sometimes put me into a weird state for the rest of the day.
Also, whenever I have deja vu it brings me back to this thought because I wonder, how the fuck I am experiencing this sequence again.
Anyway, cool to see someone else having these thoughts.

Sometimes weed and LSD sometimes make you think about life and whatever else you wrote about when you are in the middle of a trip.
Ecstasy sometimes as well, but rarely.

Re: Does anyone ever get the "life is a dream" feeling?
Yeah, I do get that sometimes, but what's even stranger is when you begin to feel oddly detached from yourself. I might just be staring at the mirror or something, and suddenly start to consciously question whether that person is actually me - it's almost as though the mental processes have somehow been separated from the physical you, and that 'wtf?' feeling goes on for a minute or two before I just move on to something else.
I don't really think it's possible or desirable to stay for a long period of time in that questioning, limbo-like state, whether that's towards the reality of what you're seeing or even when thinking about the inevitability of death, but it's interesting once in a while to just fully grasp, even for a second, how absurd existence actually is.

On a nother note, these type of out of body expiriences are somewhat common in comma patients, or patients who've been near death, which brings some to claim that an afterlife exsists.
However, it is interesting to feel, in a way, separted from things around you, and makes you wonder the "realness" of things around you. But I agree, it can be freaky, at times.

Once I was in the hospital under anestesia. When I woke up I wasn't sure if my life was real or a dream.

Re: Does anyone ever get the "life is a dream" feeling?
I had a stone (a kidneystone, they've gotta be passed.--) Went to the Emergency Room: they gave me "Nubain." Whooooeieieee! Floating on a cloud 'til I passed out. (Did I pass out?--I don't really remember. However, I was almost literally dreaming.)
