Default Do you guys a lot of guys will skip Cincy this year?

I'm wondering if a lot of the guys will skip Cincy this year because of the olympics...what do you guys think...in the past, most players don't do great in both the canadian and cincy masters because they are set back to back...this year, because of the olympics, its going to be even harder, physically because of back to back to back tennis...since the olympics are in china, it doesn't make things any easier...none of the best guys want to get burned out for the Open, so they probably feel that the cincy masters is the best tournament to skip...any thoughts, guys...

I pretty much go to this tournament every year, but i would be seriously bummed if no one good showed up because they all decided to head over to beijing early to get acclimated, plus eliminate the chance of getting burned out prior to the Open...

While I doubt any of the top players will just skip Cincinnati outright, I'm guessing we may see some losing earlier than they should, and a lot fewer will be sticking around after they lose. Four years ago, Roger lost in the first round to Hrbaty, and it was clear that he wasn't giving it his best. A disappointment, sure, but Andy went on to win, and it was still a pretty awesome tournament.

Q. Given that you went from qualifying at Wimbledon right into the main draw and into the second round and did the same here, and you said yesterday about your goal being into the top 100 as soon as possible, so you think you basically succeed? Are you going to be in the top 100 and be able to avoid qualifying now in some of the major tournaments coming up?
JESSE LEVINE: I haven't really looked at the rankings. It will be interesting to see where I'm going to be after this week. I don't think it's quite top 100 yet, but it's borderline. It's getting close.
As far as other tournaments, I just received word that I got a wildcard into Cincinnati. I'm pretty excited about that.
Hopefully in some other tournaments I can maybe sneak in on my ranking. US Open hopefully I can get another wildcard there, because on the cut I wasn't in yet. Hopefully soon enough I'll be in the top 100 and get into these tournaments on my own without the wildcards.
