I like difficult draws sometimes for the sake of entertainment. Mainly the only time I get bothered about bad draws are in Grand Slams.

Other times, I just comment on it as part of an analysis.

It is about time to revenge Wawrinka ! David can outplay him on clay.

the draw is not really that bad...first thing he's not in Nadal's half of the draw so there's a higher possibility for him to reach the final. And regarding the earlier rounds, I don't think either Johansson or Calleri are playing good enough these days to beat David on clay-that if he plays like he played in Monte Carlo. And for Wawrinka, I also believe David has better chances on clay...the first bad thing is if he plays Ferrer in the SF (that of course in case he reached that round )
I think it mainly depends on his fitness...so best of luck David

Wawrinka's best surface is clay, but at least he will get some good matches here, which is what he needs.

David's 2nd round opponent will be Calleri, who brushed aside Johansson today. David leads their h2h 4-2 and their claycourt h2h is level at 2-2. They haven't played each other since their Hamburg SF 2003 nearly 5 years ago when Gordo won comfortably. It's about time that they locked horns again.

Tough one for sure, they have played doubles together and they get along quite well.

I really want to watch that match and those 2 stunning backhands in action, but unfortunately there probably won't be any live streaming available.

Bwin, allegedly had a live stream, but that is someone being cruel.

Updated the blog, some very bad references there.

David and Arnold won their doubles in a champs Tiebreak.

Thanks for the blog updates. I'm just about to read it. It will make a refreshing change from having to read boring lectures notes with a size 6 font.
The lack of coverage of this event is the only downside of one best tournaments on the ATP calendar.

Barcelona website:
