It is quite special for those who live in Latvia, I now live in Denmark and here the meaning kinda disappears since noone knows what it is.
I could imagine it´s similar for Ernests since he travels a lot, but maybe he gets some present from his dad

I didn't know anything about Name Day before I became an Ernests fan. I think it's special to people since I hear it's just like a birthday.

Re: Ernests' news thread!
About Hernan: He is still coaching Ernests, but he is taking some time with his family in Argentine. Daren Cahill just tweeted this. He helps him for couple of weeks under the Adidas team, that's why Ernests was in Las Vegas before IW.
And about Barcelone, I'm sad because he reached the Q last year lost to Verdasco. 45 points to defend somewhere else.

Re: Ernests' news thread!
Damn, I really liked what I saw during E's practices. I think Cahill would've made a great impact on his game, in terms of consistency.

I KNEW IT! I KNEW IT! I'm happy Cahill is helping him out. I think Cahill will improve some aspects of his game over the few weeks they are working together but I'm glad Hernan is still on the payroll!

YAY So happy ) I think Darren will be a great help during Indian Wells and Miami and then I guess he will go back with Hernan at the start of clay season.

I'm sure that Cahill will be a great coach one can have but it seems he prefers not to work with anyone in particular and sticks with Adidas (too bad for Ernie).
Btw, I love Hernan too and his 'zen' impact on Ernests

Re: Ernests' news thread!
I know some of you are not interested in rankings so much, but for me it is a consolation after yesterday to know that Ernests will not fall in rankings on Monday.
It is actually most probable that he will climb a place or two and possibly up to 30 in the best case scenario

Re: Ernests' news thread!
I was very interested in rankings, hence the thread I made..but I felt I was wearing his ranking around my neck every week, coupled with my postings being left alone,so I stopped posting them.
There is no best case scenario,if he continues to play as he did yesterday he'll be nowhere high enough for ANY premier tournaments in the very near future. He needs to get back to basics, and concentrate on doing them a whole lot better,I dont need to spell out what he needs to do,he will know, any knowledgeable tennis fan knows too.
So its not worth talking about a number every week,if anything there is some obsessing from a few people here..its not worth the paper its written on if he cant sustain a good enough effort to keep it high enough. The lack of performance affects it of course, and he has himself to blame, for lets say baffling scheduling and results that are just not going to sustain it. And with the clay court season to come,he could find himself in the wilderness, with very few direct entries into tournaments.
He needs to string results together...starting the next time he steps on court. Atm I even have doubts whether he'll show in Miami.
