I'm so scared for tomorrow, when Ferrer is in the zone, he can make the opponent look totally useless (I have bad memories of Bastad last year - or I didn't see the Santoro match, but it must have been brutal too).

They lost in mixed doubles.

If I have nothing nice to say... Well Ferru has played a lot of tennis, so we shall see. Gael has done a stand up job of wearing out opponents this past week. However, Ferrer is like the little engine that could at times.

Wow, what a first set, the first game on fire, then totally in control with heavy, deep shots.
I doubt he will be able to keep playing like that 3 sets, but what a nice answer to all the BS about him.

Why not? Forget your french negativity for once.

Hey, I'm not so negative, I was trusting him for the other rounds! But I'm scared of Ferrer. You should know why as a Gasquetaire. I also watched Gilles lose 12 games in a row to Ferrer in Bastad last year, it was painful. I know Gaël's serve should prevent him from being bitchslapped like that, but still.

He had to step down a little bit because he really was on fire at the beginning. He's still doing OK. He just needs to serve better.

The interviews of Papa Monfils are so annoying...

Oh, I had not seen your post , the board was bugging again.
Can't wait for Sylvette's impressions of the match.

But today is another day and Ferrer is far less impressive than he was in Shanghai. Besides, Gael is normally much more of a fighter than Richard , and even more so in Roland Garros. I still have the feeling, he can win this.

I never said that he can't win, Puschkin. But that he can't keep playing 3 sets like that.
Most people were probably watching Federer at that time, unfortunately, but his first set really was impressive.

Now he is in defending mode again, so let's get ready for the same BS again after the match, whatever happens.

(Ferrer does suck a little bit today, but it can't be a coincidence they all play poorly against him.)

Welcome around, we can use reinforcements in the Monfils camp on MTF!

I was just reading on a French forum and bingo, they're still whining, it's so boring, blablabla.

of course not. It is just the fact that all those self-proclaimed experts here and in the media did not expect him to get that far, and now they are annoyed with their predictions, while I predicted him to do well here. And I love to be right. So, thanks, Gael.
