I've been the friend before (where it hasn't worked out). That situation was very different. Friend wanted to get married to a mechanic who had an aversion to steady work. I'd known the guy since we were kids, and he was not a nice guy.

Sounds like a difficult life.
I think you missed my point. I don't see why it's bad for a wife to expect to be provided for by her husband. It does require trust on her part, but I think that's essential for any marriage to work. You can't always be looking over your shoulder.
I honestly believe any man worth his salt would feel honoured by this sign of trust from his wife. |
