Re: Doubles Tennis Tipping (DTT) Managers Thread-- Managers needed
What about my proposal to have more than 1 tournament per week during weeks where we have ATP 200 and 500 tournaments ? With 16 spots available per tournament ? This would be closer to reality and correspond to what is done with TT (with the nice LE feature ....).

If we add Saturday + Sunday + Monday, we could have a decent number of matches for 2 rounds of qualies but that is not 100% guaranteed.
Regarding deadline for picks, new rule is easier for managers but it leads to too much frustration for the player who sends picks before match has started but is not accepted. With singles, this is easier because most of time deadline corresponds to first match being played in the day. In doubles, it is often difficult to give a firm deadline since matches are often after singles matches and are after a match which as a deadline. So, between this deadline and start of first Doubles match, we may have 1 to 2 hours which is enough to have frustration from players who send picks during that time.

Do we already have so many players to have 2 rounds of qualies?
So what, if a doubles match is scheduled after a singles match, we calculate 1h30 after the match has started for the doubles match and set the deadline at that time.

Do we have so many managers? I doubt it.
I could never run one (can't do updates at work etc.)

Regarding your remark about "it is their fault", I agree. But, for instance, I am out this week in Doubles because of diego36arg not sending picks even if we were +3 after day 1. And diego sent me his picks 2 hours after deadline. Of course, this should be exceptional (allowed only once in the tournament, and you could have penalties for that, eg. if you are tied, this should be first TB criterion before SRs) but it would help to keep the fun and be more tolerant with a player not sending picks (and not penalizing too much the partner). When I was in opposite situation, it is not fun for me to win by wo because one guy of opponent team did not send picks.
|
Sorry I really dont agree. If someone doesnt send picks I'd not like if a pick from his doubles partner will count.
I am playing these games since the beginning and I only forget to send picks once last week because I thought I am out.
Usually OOP is out early so everyone should be able to send picks on time.
And of course you need a partner who cares about the game, if so he/she wont forget to send picks.

DTT is great as it is
I think it is better to make one tournament a week, more matches, more excitement

Fully agree with Denis on this one.
On the qualys issues I believe they should be made over ATP and Challengers finals.
Back to the beach know, good luck everybody

Re: Doubles Tennis Tipping (DTT) Managers Thread-- Managers needed
WEEK 3 Australian Open Manager: trucul Co-Manager: vmbf
WEEK 4 Johannesburg Manager: TBD Assistant Manager: TBD
WEEK 5 Rotterdam Manager: TBD Assistant Manager: trucul
WEEK 6 Memphis Manager: kai. Assistant Manager: NoFroz
WEEK 7 Dubai Manager: TBD Assistant Manager: TBD
WEEK 8 Davis Cup Manager: TBD Assistant Manager: TBD
WEEK 9 Indian Wells Manager: TBD Assistant Manager: TBD
WEEK 10 Miami Manager: TBD Assistant Manager: TBD
Assistant Managers are required as backup of the manager and to collect his picks and the ones of his opponents. DTT Board (Drikke, trucul, Boarder35m) can help for that and to answer any questions during tournaments coming from DTT Managers (especially new ones).

Yves., I am sorry but considering what happened in PAW Sydney, you are suspended from managing DTT. The objective of all MTF games is to have fun by respecting the rules, cheaters are not admitted.
You are also suspended from playing DTT from a period to be decided by DTT Board.

Re: Doubles Tennis Tipping (DTT) Managers Thread-- Managers needed
Yannick,
When is the deadline in DTT AO?
I can make the Doubles Draw and post the Schedule of Play (and of course post the doubles diffs and update it).
In this season, I'll try to manage DTT tournaments instead of TT. I'd like to manage Johannesburg, but I'll have Costa do Sauipe in the same week.

 Great !
Deadline is Sunday 22:00 CET since there are no matches scheduled on Monday. Matches may start on Wednesday only but I think it is good to make the draw tomorrow 22:00 CET and keep some opened spots for some last minutes alternates (which could commit until matches start). Let us say that we may add [ALT1] to [ALT5) in the draw.
Regarding Johannesburg, I guess this will be too much for you if you manage 2 tournaments. If really there is nobody else, I can take it.
I will let you post tomorrow's OOP and make Doubles Draw. I will make Singles Draw and copy/paste your posts in the first page.
Thanks once again for co-managing it.
