Stefano Travaglia
19 years old, born in december 91. He has came off the radar really because he only played junior tournaments up until 2008 when he was 16. He never played a junior grand slam, but done reasonably well at G2s before trying his luck very young at futures.
It seems to have paid off as he is now probably mentally strong and a better player on the futures circuit and his ranking is building all the time. Will probably start to play Challengers soon.
He also spent most of last year in South America. Making at least 5 futures semi-finas and winning 1 from the summer onwards.
This year he has won 1 future in SA, a runner-up in another and a semi-finalist also in SA.
Now he has just won an Italian future event. Defeating Leonardi, Sieber, Krajinovic, Cecchinato before beating Lindell easily in the final.
Will be well up the rankings in the top 350 probably. Hopefully will continue this success once he plays challengers.

Re: Stefano Travaglia
Lost in the next round to the wily old Ramirez-Hidalgo 62 63. I notived his serve percentage is very low, something that if he can improve upon will definitely see him rise higher in the rankings as when he gets it in, he does very well on them points.

Re: Stefano Travaglia
It will take him some months to come back
And he even broke with his girlfriend a few time ago, Italo-Argentinian player Candelaria Sedano-Acosta (who already found another boy )
C'mon Steto, come back stronger!

Re: Stefano Travaglia
He is really good, and he was on the right way to crack Top 200 as soon as possible.

Re: Stefano Travaglia
And he's back!
Played in the qualy of Argentina F19 and lost in the 2R against Kevin Prando 6-3 3-6 6-4. It's going to take a while for him to get back to his level of play, his injury was too serious so it's already a huge win for him just to be competing again and doing his best. Time will tell if he's able to get back at it but, of course, should be a long road ahead. Just hats off for his determination, he's a warrior.
Forza Stefano.

Re: Stefano Travaglia
Lost in another Argentinian Future but gave a good fight against Collarini. Tough battle judging by the scoreline. Slowly but surely Steto !

Last week's result was his best one since coming back but, of course, scorelines suggest he's still 'on the way'. Most are wars but the heart and determination shall be rewarded hopefully.

Re: Stefano Travaglia
I think he's very close to his level before the injury but still not quite there, struggling against players he shouldn't but knowing his game and how he manages himself on court i'm sure the grind and fighting spirit have played a huge role not just in the recovery process but also for winning those ones.
