No. I think Federer's decline is a fact and he's not winning any major in the future.

I kinda agree... He's in a great moment, but the other 2 guys are too good. No more slams for Feddy

im interested in federers 1st serve %. I remember that it was incredible compared to now. He used to hit a lot more aces and if i remember correctly the 1st serve % was always around 80%+.
this way we will have stats to prove how much he has declined in that area

Hmm and who has Djokovic had in a slam SF right now? 31 year old Ferrer? Again you bypassed thinking when typing this...
As for Fed not declining a lot... laughably wrong.

Re: The Federer Decline Thread
I have been following Fed since 2003. His decline was clearly noticeable since spring 2007, then 2008 was even weaker, Fed found some new solutions and stabilized on a high level though.

Re: The Federer Decline Thread
he was at a good level last night, but couldn't go the distance 5th set. murray's great physically, allowed him to dominate in the 5th. murray reminds me of nadal, in his defensive abilities against federer.

Re: The Federer Decline Thread
federer is the greatest tennis player ive ever seen
his form from 2005-2006 was the highest level in tennis history
if he had adapted to nadal he probably would have won RG- (he refused to play 1 dimensional to match nadal)
his 2004 level was above sampras and borg's peaks
his 2003,2007 level was higher than anything nadal or nole has ever done
his 2008 level was finally when he declined enough (because of illness) that nadal could finally moonball him to defeat
roger- you were the best

Re: The Federer Decline Thread
I hope he doesn't carry on until 2016.
As a fan I found it hard enough seeing him being outdone by Murray. What is his level going to be like in four years time. If he does win another slam maybe he should call time on it then. A career as incredible as his shouldn't fizzle out.

Don't be stupid. Nadal 2010 and Djokovic 2011 were a lot better than 2003 Federer.

Over the course of the year I'd agree with that but Federer's 2003 TMC display was absolutely frightening, one of his best ever tournaments.

Re: The Federer Decline Thread
Noserer, too old and feeble for best of 5 . He needs to hire Steffi Graf as his fitness coach, I mean Drugassi had a renaissance after hooking up with her. Either that or acquire magic egg.

Re: The Federer Decline Thread
I have my doubts whether Roger has declined at all. The competition has caught up. Murray was almost unplayable. Add to that a surface that suits him and he is unplayable.
