No. I think Federer's decline is a fact and he's not winning any major in the future.

I kinda agree... He's in a great moment, but the other 2 guys are too good. No more slams for Feddy

What's you talking about Willis?
Aren't ya happy Rogelio's in the final?
And NOTICE. how said he didn't miss Rafa at all!
Now see right there..a champion's mentality!
Now.. I have to look at Soderling's press conference. I'm hoping he showed some confidence of his own!

Re: Federer's slow decline
His level of play was bound to decline at some point from the inhuman level he was at for about 3 and a half years. Still, he's good enough to get to the semis of every slam and compete for majors, even when not playing his best.

Re: Federer's slow decline
99% of the players wish they were shaky enough to make almost every grand slam finals.
Every exceptionnal athlete have a peak , then decline but still compete with the best of their sport in the decline.Federer is doing exactly that , Federer was unstoppable and he was just feeling like it and everyone else was feeling it also. Now he's stoppable but you still have to play like your best match of the year to beat him or be one of the top 4 players ( in a slam at least which is what is important at the stage of his career )
Everybody is putting this guy down since a year and he's still there , surviving every slam to reach the final since last year french open.Got beat by Nadal 3 times which is disastrous in some sens , but in another he's unlucky the other best player on the tour is like the worst match up for him.But still , it's been 20 grand slam since Federe hasnt choked like nadal djokovic and murray did this week , 20 freaking grand slam think about it.He's surviving , giving himself a shot at a gradn slam trophy match almost everytime.

What happened to Federer? Life. You can't be on top forever no matter how good you are.

Re: Federer's slow decline
Standard got higher. It's that simple. Any decline is minimal.

Nah, his serve has definitely decline, as has his forehand. The field is also closer too, but in terms of quality of Federers play, there has been a decline.

It's a combination of factors, but more so the increase in standard. I think his own physical decline has been greatly exaggerated.

Re: Federer's slow decline
well isn't a slow decline better than a sudden one?

2004 - Won 3
2005 - Won 2
2006 - Won 3
2007 - Won 3
2008 - Won 1
So obviously Jan 2008 to present is a major decline. Federer should be winning 3 slams a year.
