P.S. (I'm not a trekkie nor a trekker, but I know the whole thing)

Scary thought: whole ATP (including the execs, the umpires, the linespersons, the ballkids et al.) turning into Mr Andersons (The Matrix Revolutions)...

I have to give my ex-buddy Sue kudos for an interesting thread.

But I don't really agree with the premise. Nothing parallel universe or bizarre about what's happened in tennis so far this year.

Upsets happen everyday in sports. No names win over bigger names.

And last year held some upsets too at the beginning - Canas beating Fed for one. Happens also at the beginning of the year before everyone settles into a groove.

As for Fed losing, he's been sick, and even without that, dynasties come...dynasties go. Bound to happen at some point.

So again, no, not parallel anything....just merely sport.

I am too old and mature to bother with the past. Things happen and experiences change. You missed the humor in the thread though; mostly tongue and cheek which I decided aways back was the only way I could even stay on MTF. But I definitely see your point

Those 4 predictions, especially the last 2, will never happen

I think the most likely one is Federer losing first round at W

2 Almagro's titles on clay shouldn't be so shocking IMO.

But yeah, 0 for Fed and Bryans is really stunning

I don't know Jonathan. If you were to say one month ago Andy Roddick would beat two of the top three players in the world to win Dubai, people would've said, "Is you crazy?"

With the way this year's going so far, I'm not ruling anything out.

Yeah, but those have to do with results.

I defy anyone to predict when Nadal will find pants to fit him and Djokovic bounced the ball only once between serves. Those 2 can't ever happen. What's next? Volandri serves like Karlovic? Gaudio wins Wimbledon?

Now now. This is still a scientific finding so we are still based in reality

Almagro never won any title outside Spain before this year although I hope in this parallel universe he will win a hard court title in a MM tournament
