I know but I think he has peaked and will do nothing even on clay.

He's looking at a realistic shot of finishing the year in the top 12-15, dare I say it. Mucho is one of those guys that CAN perform on other surfaces as well...this year is as good as any for him to make that step up.

Is this the most points Nadal's ever had pre-wimbledon?

Surely he had more last year with the extra 100 from Rome and the IW win. It'd be close though because he got further in Chennai, the Oz Open, Miami, Hamburg and now Queens this year.

He actually took away the same # of points this year from IW/Miami as he did last year. I know he lost some at Rome, but I was thinking the other results you've mentioned would have more than made up for that by now. Has it? Does anyone know?

This time last year he had:

15 from Chennai
50 from AO
15 from Dubai
100 from IW
25 from Miami
100 from MC
60 from Barcelona
100 from Rome
70 from Hamburg
200 from French
11 from Queens

746

If he wins today, he will have slightly more points. If he loses, slightly less.

and so it is...
Nadal 760
Djoko 646
Fed 550

Nadal and Federer gaining a little bit on Djokovic. Seeing the current gap with the rest of the field, the semi-draw of Wimbledon will be crucial!

All lists updated.

Obviously not really what Federer wanted...won Halle, but was unable to take any points out of Nadal's lead, and only took a mere 14 points out of Djokovic's running total.

In the individual nation battles, the Italy list has become a two-horse race between Seppi and Bolelli. Ljubicic is showing the Croats who's boss. And the American's are now down to 8 top 100 players.

As you'd expect, little change in the top 25 standings, this week. Ferrer's appearance in the final enables him to pull further away from Roddick, which should prove handy as the latter is likely to out-perform him at SW19 over the last two weeks. Karlovic actually draws level on points with Ljubicic (both have 126), but falls into #26 place with a combined 61 points in TMS and GS events, thus far this season, while Ljubicic pipped him with 62 points.

For the finalists, Verdasco climbs into the top 25, while Gicquel moves up 20 places to #49.

This week should be dedicated to saiprakash. Top 18 remains unchanged, but Karlovic surges up from #35 to #19 with a title run in Nottingham.

Wimbledon is now upon us, and I will modify the "points" and "individual nation battle" posts at some stage tomorrow.

but karlovic's ranking will remain at #22 right.?
so atp road to shanghai is #19. Well he won't make it to shanghai anyway but there a lot of indoor events in this Fall which he can rack up some points and stay inside #20

While I understand the workings of the ATP rankings system, I don't keep a database update of the players' respective points, so I'm not the best poster to ask. However, judio should have the answer in his own thread, which he kindly updates for us on a very regular basis.

EDIT - I see that he hasn't yet updated points after todays finals. To answer your question, Ivo gets an extra 55 points for winning the title, today, but as you will see, it is not enough for him to move higher than his current position of #22.

Huuuuuuge result yesterday, with Nole going out in R2. Federer has trailed Djokovic all season, thus far, in the Race, and now has a golden opportunity to finally overtake him...needs to reach the final to do so. Such is the intense battle for #1 that Djokovic may well rue this one result come the end of the season.
