Nadal 955
Federer 685
Djokovic 642

Let's see how this continues on the American hardcourt where the next big points are...

Nadal could add another 50 if he plays and wins Stutgart

I highly doubt he's going to play Stuttgart. On the press conference he almost let it slip that he already decided not to play there.

Do you have a link to his press conference?

His current "best 5th" result is 5pts from Rotterdam, so the maximum he could win from Stuttgart is 45pts.

Get it done, Nadal

That's best time for him to make No 1 by end of year

From the ATP website
Quote:
New Wimbledon champion Rafael Nadal is among a star trio announced as the first qualifiers for the 2008 Tennis Masters Cup. The Spaniard will join four-time champion Roger Federer, whom he beat in an epic Wimbledon final, and Novak Djokovic at the prestigious circuit finale
How is Federer already qualified, I understand that it's pretty unlikely that he'll end outside the top 8 in the race with the points he has at the moment, but it is mathematically impossible for Federer to end outside the top 8 or is there some other rule which explains why he's already qualified for TMC, or is this a mistake on the website.

Djokovic already being qualified isn't surprising, he won a GS title this year and GS champions only need to be inside the top 20 in the race to be allowed to go to TMC

sure it's mathematically impossible. just play around with the remaining tournie points and try to allocate W,F,SF to the 8 players behind fed. there aint enought points out there to get them all past fed!

Ok, I was just wondering, I hadn't actually tried checking whether it was mathematically possible for Fed to end outside the top 8
