Again Kiefer and Kohlschreiber aren't in the doubles draw. Cut-off was 77, Kiefer/Kohlschreiber would be 78. So if they really signed up together, they would be first alt at least.

Oh man, close one. Hopefully, this will give him the necessary push to really get into gear and get past Nieminen. On a more negative, realistic note though, I don' see it happen.

Guess we won't know until a doubles team withdraws. Too bad, really.

Phew, at least a win! I was very glad as I saw the result today morning
Nieminen in average good form will be more difficult...

Re: Kiwi on tour in USA!!! (next stop: Miami)
I must admit I went to bed at 46 24 when he had only won 8 returnpoints. I thought a break would be impossible... what I surprise when I got up today and checked the result!! He is a great fighter and I think this was what he needed to get back on track

Finally a match with impressive service stats and even against a good returner.

Re: Kiwi on tour in USA!!! (next stop: Miami)
WTF Kiefer!
I know that Nieminen isn't in top shape, but to win with such a score is truly impressive nevertheless.
Especially saving those 5 rebreak chances, which could have really changed a lot.

I am pretty sure I read somewhere that, after Haas withdrew, Kuehnen took the first flight back to Germany. He didn't even stay to follow the match against GGL.

Really? Will you be able to ask him/her, about how well Kiwi played?
