World No. 11 David Nalbandian made his way comfortably into the second round at his home country tournament, the Copa Telmex in Buenos Aires, as he defeated Australia's Peter Luczak 6-3, 6-3 on Monday.

Nalbandian hit 10 aces and converted on four of his five break point chances to secure the win in 72 minutes. He improved to a 3-0 lifetime record against Lucak, whom he also defeated in the second round of the Australian Open in his only other tournament appearance this season.

Nalbandian, who is playing in Buenos Aires for the fifth time, is a two-time event quarterfinalist. He lost to eventual winner Nicolas Massu in 2002 and to compatriot Guillermo Coria in '03.

The top seed awaits the winner between Italian Fabio Fognini and wild card Eduardo Schwank, who both come to the Copa Telmex at career-high rankings. The 20-year-old Fognini, currently No. 78 in the South African Airways ATP Rankings, has reached the quarterfinals or better at the two previous stops of the Latin American clay court circuit. Schwank, 21, reached his first career ATP final last week in Costa do Sauipe.

Nothing really interesting in the first part of this article.
Davis says he wants to win the tournament, he needs time to improve his game, he respects his opponents and the spectators, blah, blah, blah.

In the second part, David speaks about Davis Cup, the strong Argentine team and how lucky Mancini is to have the luxury to choose among many good players...

In the second part, though, there is an interesting revealing. David speaks about his plans for launching a foundation (bearing his name, I suppose) to help kids and teenagers.

-----------
What a coincidence! Rafael Nadal and Richard Gasquet chose the same time to launch their foundations with similar aims. If this becomes trend among the top players, their "amazing personalities and beautiful souls" won't be screened by such showy declarations at "random" moments. Amazing personalities and beautiful souls are shown at every single moment of someone's life...
