DGT got up 7-6 7-5 over Ilhan one more match and he makes main draw in Madrid.

Good for the confidence qualifying and taking out Gasquet in 3 sets, now plays Melzer next.

Sadly lost 7-6 in the 3rd to Llodra, but 3rd round plus qualifying is an excellent week.

Now he is taking the week off or maybe he might take a WC to a challenger. Then prepare for RG.

Zero wins in singles so far this season for Daniel, equaling his horrible start from 2011. However he did win the Vina Del Mar doubles title with Fred Gil, 1-6 7-5 12-10 over Andujar/Berlocq in the final. Unfortunately that didn't translate into decent form in singles.

Luckily for Daniel he only defends one significant result until the the French Open MD cutoff, 45 points from Monte Carlo. He has every opportunity to run into form. His next events are challengers in Rabat and Marrakech, and hopefully he'll pick up a few wins there.

Daniel won his first match of the 2012 season in Rabat, winning 7-6(3) 6-3 over Alberto Brizzi. Unfortunately he lost in the next round 6-4 5-7 5-7 to Guillermo Olaso in a match he served for in the second set.

This week he again lost in the first round of Marrakech, 6-2 5-7 3-6 to Federico Delbonis of Argentina. He was sick and it unfortunately affected his level of play as the match went onward. Daniel's next event will be the St. Brieuc challenger in France in a couple of weeks. The entry list is quite weak so it should be a good opportunity for some wins for Daniel. Hopefully he can have a deep run in St. Brieuc and solidify a top 100 position and a French Open MD position.

7-6(7) 3-6 6-4 victory over Jouan in St. Brieuc. Daniel was down *0-5 in the first set breaker and down 2-*4 and several gamepoints in the third set, so this victory is huge for him to fight and come through it. Hopefully this will spur him on in future matches.

Plays Torebko in R2 on Thursday, so he has a much deserved day of rest. Hopefully he can keep the wins coming in R2.

Dani won 3-6 6-4 6-1 over Torebko in R2. He was struggling through the first half of the match but continued to fight hard to stay in it, then broke to win the second set after several BPs/deuces/game points against him. Then he broke twice to get to a 5-0 lead in the third and closed it out.

Two great wins this week for Daniel. His level may not be there but he's fighting to win and deserves praise for that. Dani plays Burquier in the QF, the fourth match on center court. Hopefully he can make his first SF of the season!

Dani lost to Burquier 6-7(5) 4-6 in St. Brieuc QF. But it was still a positive week for him last week to get some wins under his belt in a fighting fashion.

Unfortunately, he wasn't able to carry over these successes to Houston this week, as he lost 6-2 5-7 1-6 to Russell after being ahead 6-2 5-3. He was playing strong, offensive tennis until the latter parts of the second set, and then everything changed. The run of poor form he's been on have had a terrible affect on his confidence and sadly he's not able to hold leads anymore. Hopefully he can put these bad losses behind him, I thought that would have happened after last week, but I guess not.

His next tournament will be Monte Carlo qualifying this weekend. GL to Dani in Monaco!
