Frank

First serve went away for a good chunk of the second set, but he managed to hold on, never faced a BP. Didn't do much on return, no surprise, but took advantage of Mahut's poor game in the second.

He's got Fish next, a very unfortunate draw when you consider the likes of Dabul, Klaasen and Brown are also in the quarters. Still, if he could win against Fish, he'd probably be the best player in the semis, and could definitely push on and win the tournament.

Great result.. Fish will be very tough for a rusty Frank to defeat but who knows. Can't wait.

Looks like Frank won't play his QF until Friday. I really hope he brings his A-game against Fish; he could definitely take Bloomfield or Harrison, and the top half is pretty weak too, this is a huge opportunity.

And with a few wins, Frank already passes most of the Canadian players who have been playing all year in terms of points. Really shows that he is the best Canadian Player that we have.

I would have to say that at this moment there is none. There is Frank and then there is the rest. If Frank could ever have a semblance of a return game he could have been a decent top 50 player. Not too say that this comeback could be his second coming, but things are looking pretty good right now. Always seems to play well during these summer US events.

He was down a break, then blew a chance to serve for it at 6*-5, but fought back well.

I only just started watching on stream, anyone know why Fish seems to be having a hissy fit?

At 5-5 with Fish serving, Frank played some crazy points and the commentator said Frank had said something to Fish but I didn't hear anything. I thought it was just Fish upset with some calls and being mad at himself giving up his 5-2 lead.

mardy stepping it up or frank melting down now

down a break 0-2 in the 3rd (was broken to love) and now 0-30

recovered to 30-30 but then got broken anyway

if he does lose here, which it looks like he might now his rank next monday will be # 283

just 2 points off of overtaking milos again

he fought at the end but it was just to much of a hole to dig himself out of
